1. I know this is not U2 related, but I just saw on the net that Robert John Bardo, the man who claimed that Exit forced him
to kill young actress Rebecca Schaeffer, was stabbed to death yesterday by another inmate. I know this is not really the
place to post this, but I thought you guys might find it interesting since some of you probably remember that story. If I find
a link, I'll post it. Plus, I didn't know what to title this topic.
  2. Where did you hear that? I mean - that the guy was stabbed?

I heard of this story two years ago...
  3. -> A Place Called Vertigo. Bad Yard Club forum is totally not made for this

Yeah I read it first in the U2 at the end of the world book that some murdered claimed that U2 had inspired him to commit his murder. But it's the same as with religion, people will use anything as an excuse for their crimes, as long as the excuse isn't theirselves.

He isn't dead? I read he was stabbed to death. Shows how "reliable" some sources are.

Great point. I mean, how many people have listened to Exit? Tons. And how many have blamed it for a crime? One. I
don't think the song is the issue in that case.

I agree totally with you. And no-one forced him to listen to the song or do a murder, so...

It's terrible that He blamed such a great song and a great band for "Making" him commit the murder. If I remember
right, I read that the song was not the reason of the murder, but he testified that he played Exit to get him in the
    mood to commit the murder.
  11. Never heard of this story, but as said, Everything can be an excuse for some lunatics who start murdering...
Ever heard of the song "Bloomy Sunday" of Werther, a German who lived in i think the 15th century ?
It was a song about suicide and really hundreds of people killed themselves after hearing that...
What a great but bizar and powerful strenght does music have hey...

Yep. Music can do weird things to people.
