1. My...God. It's incredible

  2. Is it still the electronic stuff or have they gone back to their old style?

it seems to be fairly new territory actually, but the best way to describe it would be The Eraser meets ok computer meets hail to the thief. But there's a lot of new sounding stuff in there.
  4. same old...sounds like radiohead of the last 10 years...

its like u2 writing 4 straight albums that sound the same to me...

its a good listen but not anything knew...i was hoping for more song structure....

Yeah, I'm going to go ahead a disagree there. This album is not a departure for the band, but it is certainly a move forward. To say this albuum sounds like their past four albums is blasphemy. This band is doing things that other bands are afraid to do. This record has so many influences from so many different places. It is somber, which is unlike any other radiohead album. Thom's voice is at his best. The album is so extremely drum heavy. Every track is driven by the percussion section... no exceptions. Phils percussive qualities on this record are unlike anything ever before this. The album does not make a thematic statement (OKC, HTTT) but it is doing things that they ahve nver done. The band is putting itself in a place that it has never been, that is, stripping down. there is a very simple element to this record, which makes it so beautiful. They draw influences from previous records, especially the bends/okcomputer with the lighter guitar sounds and heavy drum tracking. They take elements from Kid A / Amnesiac sessions with the ambient noises, but it is a true step forward.
Lastly, the album has no holes in it. It is 10 solid tracks, a cohesive album. Not too long, not too short. It's amazing. It certainly is no OK Computer, but it has it's own place.

Then I must say that you've lost all my respect. I wouldn't ever pay 0$ for a band I like. I'd never pay 0$ for a U2 album. Never.

Did you buy the Popmart DVD or did you just download an audio rip?

That's not an album. Moreover, I have the old VHS, so I didn't feel obliged to pay for something I already have.

Okay, following the way you argue, one could say the same about the Radiohead release. It's not an album, it's a digital release.
And what tells you that halfabridge won't buy the album when it's out?
Also, if you had the VHS, why didn't you rip the audio from that? Because the sound is improved on the DVD. So, you didn't download something you already had but a new release.

I already said in another thread that it's a shame that people don't even wanna spend a few bucks on this digital release, but the way you reacted is way too harsh.

    1) I have to apologize. I didn't think that everybody that downloads something, after 24 hours he deletes it and go a shop to buy it. Sorry. ...... Halfabridge, if you are going to buy the album I have to apoologize you. If not, I keep my previous post intact (although I must say that maybe "you've lost all my respect" is not the right expression).

    2) I didn't rip the audio of my VHS because I don't know how to do it. I once had a MP3 player which was able to do a line-in recording, but it crashed long ago and, as you know, the iPods doesn't allow you to do it. And I'm not a professional sound-editor-mixer-recorder-trader-expert or whatver you expected me to be, so I can't rip VHS into DVDs nor into my Hard Disk.

    Bye.
