1. Hello everyone!

So I've got this live version of One with an orchestra, and I'm not sure when it was played. I looked it up on Wikipedia and it mentioned that in 1995 Bono and The Edge performed on a Pavarotti and Friends concert with orchestra-backing. But it also mentioned that Brian Eno and Pavarotti joined in the song, and I can't hear either of them. Furthermore, u2-vertigo-tour.com says that they snippeted a Croatian song called Dubravka in that performance, and I definetly can't hear any Croatian in the version I've got, so I don't think that version is the same one as I have. Also, these lyrics are sung at the end of the version I have:

    You hear me coming, love
    You hear me call
You hear me knocking, knocking at your door
    You hear me coming, love
    You hear me call
    Feel the scratching
    Will you make me crawl

Does anyone perhaps know which performance I mean?
  2. Mh, the War Child perfo is the only version that i am aware of that exists with an orchestra and these extra lyrics. either that or u mean the sarajevo-concert-version
  3. this version of one is from the Pavarotti and Friends concert on 1995-09-25 in Modena
the lyrics you mentioned are in the end of this version
  4. Ok, thanks!!
  5. you're welcome
  6. You'll find that the lyrics are very common at the end of most live versions of One, except the Vertigo tour.

  7. Bono sang a snippet of "Dubravka" in Miss Sarajevo during this concert. Pavarotti appears on Miss Sarajevo, and Brian Eno and Edge appear on both songs (they only did One and Miss Sarajevo).

I think from memory Brian Eno plays a strange looking keyboard thing and does some bcals that are pretty low in the mix.

It never came out on DVD but there was an official VHS released of the concert.

    Very well noticed!

It's poem by Ivan Gundulic, Croatian poet.

Indeed he did. The second night anyway - I haven't bothered with the first.

Is that Do You Hear Me Coming Love? Cause I always thought (and kinda still think) that it's Lord and not Love.
