Guitar Hero U2 Edition in the works?

At this point, I think it's obvious that Activision has no real intentions of supporting Guitar Hero III with significant downloadable content. The next obvious step is Guitar Hero IV, which according to rumor (and a drunk, naked Captain Obvious), is already in the works.

While we've heard rumors of an Aerosmith-flavored Guitar Hero, check out this new bit of rumor, snagged from this "Quartermann" section of this month's Electronic Gaming Monthly:

We already know GH 4 is on its way (as well as a game based on the band Aerosmith), but I'm hearing two more Guitar Hero titles are also in the works, bringing GH3's sequel count to four. And one may star a group that rocks in mysterious ways.

This seems to be an obvious reference to Irish mega-group U2, who have sold a few albums since the early-80s. With Slash appearing in Guitar Hero III and most of its marketing, one could guess (and hope, actually) that this fourth sequel to a sequel will be Guns N' Roses-related. Or Slash's Snakepit. Or Earth, Wind, & Fire.
  2. So we finally can play as a real Edge...Guitar hero isn't my cup of tea though..

  3. Well, that's really only a guess, like our Next Tour Setlist thread. It's not real.

But never mind that, several songs I'd love to play along to:

    Poison- Alice Cooper
Sympathy For the Devil - The Rolling Stones
    Crazy Train - Ozzy Osbourne
All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix
    Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
    Highway To Hell - AC/DC
    Detroit Rock City - Kiss
    Love It Loud - Kiss

Oh yeah. You simply must get a copy of Alice Cooper's Trash or Welcome To My Nightmare and see what rock is all about.
  4. i know it's just talk right now but it looks very awsome i am very excited

I've just recently listened to it quite a lot. I don't know why though. And a lot of KISS too.

I played SingStar which I was pretty poor at but maybe Guitar Hero might be easier for me.
  8. i am downloading them right now

What, KISS stuff and Trash? Or the songs I listed above? Either way, you'll be impressed.I don't know if I'd like purely a U2GH game. No matter how much I like U2 (as we all do), put other rock tunes there and make 50% U2 with songs like God Part II, Where The Streets Have No Name, The Electric Co. etc, the rock ones.

I also think the reason they wouldn't license something again is for the 'sell-out' cries. And face it, it would happen - didn't they cop enough crap with the iPod?
  10. i herd for the ipod they dident take any money

They did. So you'd sure hope they didn't take any money for this endorsement.
