1. man o man...where do we start....best bootleg and why. I figured this will give some people (like myself) some good bootlegs to get rather than browsing through setlists and sound quality.

(not including released material b/c they have all been remixed and remastered and digitally enhanced to sound better)

I'm going to have to go with...Popmart...Sarajevo

Bono's voice was completely gone. Probably one of the most "gone" I've ever heard however, the people really carry him. They talk about this show in particular a lot in U2 by U2. It was really the first source of entertainment that the city had since the war had ended a year earlier. There were still bitter feelings but they reopened mass transit and people from all over the country were really reunited for the first time since the war. Larry in particular says he will never forget that night.

But the reason being that this is my fav. is because B's voice is really that hoarse, he struggles the WHOLE show with trying to get sing. He changes melodies pretty much every song and lets Edge sing a lot of the parts. It was just really touching. He sings a really cool melody in "ISHFWILF" in particular , "felt the healing in her fingertips, burnin' like a fire". gets me evertime
  2. man these topics are tough. Popmart Santiago beats Sarajevo I think. Just finished watching the DVD and my view on Popmart in general has been reversed. As for the rest of my recommendations just look at my top ten in my profile

It's quite simple, actually. Just click on a username (above their avatar) and there you can see which bootlegs they have chosen as their favs.

I was always of the opinion the Popmart was just there. I had no attachment to it at all but watching that DVD has made me see it in a different light. It's relaxed, emotional, Bono's voice is good and Edge even makes a few bum notes. The show has just sparked a little Popmart fire for me. Loved it

I've had the DVD for months but just decided to give it a whirl and I wasn't dissapointed.

    (see haytrains post above)
  10. POPmart certainly is underrated by many fans - though it could be contributed to the POP album.

I agree totally with that post. It never really sparked anything at all but after watching it, you get to appreciate the dare to say simplicity and casualness of it all, even though it seems to busy and technical!
  12. Zooropa Dublin August 28TH 1993 best bootleg ever.
