  1. I'm brand new to U2 Start and have found it a great tool and have already downloaded two concerts. One was hosted on megaupload (Red Rocks '83, to be exact) and the other on rapidshare (Dublin '93). I noticed the good majority of the bootlegs on here are hosted on the latter.

    Any particular reason to this?

    Because I think Megaupload is far superior. Those that do not want to pay to subscribe to rapidshare have to wait one FULL hour before being able to download the next file. It gets a little rediculous and tedious. With megaupload this restraint is eliminated.

    I would prefer the site SO much more if everything was uploaded on MU, but I'm sure there are ulterior motives for using Rapidshare.

    Just thought I'd share, and trust me, I still love the site and will continue to use it!

  3. I agree, but eventually Megaupload does limit you.

    It just takes a lot longer.

    The German Rapidshare doesn't limit you either (rapidshare.de).

    I think RapidShare is so much better than MegaUpload because:

    1st) RaSha has ~105 kbps of average download speed, while MeUp has ~73 kbps.

    2nd) I can't download anything from MeUp if I have downloaded something in last 10 days. It's an abuse!!

    3rd) The problem of RaSha you're referring to, the waiting of 65 minutes, it's easy-solving. You only have to turn off your proxy-server (if you can) OR you can reset your modem/router and push F5 in RaSha's screen until it changes from "You have to wait XX minutes"... to "You have to wait 70,5 seconds".

  5. Well, we have our reasons for that, we thought Megaupload was far superior too until..

    1) Rapidshare is way faster, for uploading and downloading. I can upload with 300 kb/sec on Rapidshare and with 50 kb/sec, can be a big difference if you upload 30 bootlegs or so. And downloading, I can download on Rapidshare with 1500 kb/sec, and Megaupload max. 70 kb/sec, with 100 MB files the difference can be big.

    2) But, our main reason for Rapidshare to prefer is that we can host files for the rest of our lifetime, Megaupload is much more expensive for us to use and with Rapidshare it's quite cheap to host files on our account. You have to keep in mind that we actually pay for Rapidshare, files on my account aren't ever deleted as long as I pay. If a Megaupload premium account expires it also deletes your files, and that's too expensive for us.

    3) Megaupload deletes bootlegs! All our 5th leg bootlegs were deleted from Megaupload due to abuse of the terms without any notification or e-mail why that is. That's the moment when we stepped over to Rapidshare, Megaupload sucks, their customer service sucks, they're slow, they're expensive and they delete our legal U2 bootlegs without any reason.

    Our plan is to get every bootleg on Rapidshare, I once in a while upload a lot of bootlegs from Megaupload to Rapidshare for all this reasons. Reason 2 is the most important, because where-ever the files are, as long as they are online and they'll stay online, I'm satisfied.

    Happy u2007 everyone!! (a bit dissapointed, because I thought of that on my own yesterday (remember, i'm a new u2 fan) and thought I was so clever only to find that everybody is already using it, heh oh well)

  8. I think the best thing is to have some of both, that way there's always someting for someone. Stop complaining. It takes me an hour to wait for next download in Rapidshare also, and it's your choice if you want to pay for Rapidshare or not.

    Same for sendspace.com, those services suck. Considering all the facts Rapidshare is the best, and Megaupload.com is for some shows good too.

    In the future I'll create an option to upload bootlegs to several services to please as many people as possible.
  11. sorry this might be a little off topic, but just wonderig if anyone has any problems with save file other than the 60 MB limit?

    Files are deleted after 30 days. And it takes AGES to download a show with 20 tracks since you have to download every file seperately. Imagine if you have to download 1000 bootlegs through Savefile, costs you years of your life.
