1. hi
can anyone please tell me the best mic to use for making bootlegs i have done some in the past using a sharp md and just a pair of normal headphones witch is ok but not great.
  2. Depends on your budget. DPA, Neumann's, Schoeps,...
  3. thanks for the reply

    lets say £50-80
  4. oh well, in that case, those are not an option.

I'd look for a used OKM IIr or a Sony ECM 719.

  5. OKMII can be a nice mic.. ECM719 is crap..
I suggest you contact Chris Church at taperssection.com. He manufactures very good mics for the price you're looking for.
The CA-STC11 cardioids are the ones to go with in your situation..
  6. Yep, 719 is far from being ideal. But it's in the given price range and would need no overseas transaction.
Also check the yard sale on taperssection.
  7. cheers for the help
  8. Just to use an existing thread (sorry Druidu2 if I bother you) about this subject,

what do you think about this recorder, the Zoom H1?
    http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/products/h1/

I want to record some of the rehearsals and probable upcoming shows of my band but I haven't got a good recorder - or a big wallet. Do you think that small device can record clean audio in a closed room/pub/whatever, without sounding distorted or blurry or whatever?

    Thanks in advance
  9. I guess it looks good (likeASong) maybe a decent stereo voice recorder could do the job.
