1. Well, as far as I know, Electrical Storm wasn't supposed to be a single at all or was supposed to be released later. But some radio station got a copy of an early version and broadcasted it, and the rest is history.

    I believe that was the story, don't know for sure. Can't find it so quick.
  2. I have this version when it first came out before Electrical Storm was released. Bono is good friends with the BBC DJ Jo Whittley or something like that. Bono gave her this demo version but did not want her to play it becasue they were still working on Electrical Storm. Jo went ahead and told everyone on her show that she had new U2 music and then played for her audience the next day as she said she would. Principle or whomever told her not to play it anymore, but people had already recorded it off the air. My version actually has something like "a BBC first" as the song starts. I'll have to pull it out and see exactly what the slogan is.
