1. I don't love nor hate Fez. For me, it's still a sketch of a song. Lyrically there are some good ideas that are not pursued further. It's like when you have to give a good student a C only for not trying.

    1. NLOTH 8/10
    2. Magnificent 8/10
    3. MOS 10/10 (Still their best song post 2000)
    4. UC 10/10
    5. IGCIIDGCT 5/10
    6. GOYB 3/10
    7. Stand up Comedy 1/10
    8. Fez/Being Born 7/10
    9. White As Snow 9/10 (I love this song. Never understood the hate for it)
    10. Breathe 8/10
    11. Cedars of Lebanon 9/10

So 3 clunkers, 8 solid tracks. In retrospective, it's still my favorite U2 album of that decade, but SOI is more cohesive in the post 2000 era.
  2. All of the NLOTH tracks came alive on 360. Especially Boots, UC and MOS.
  3. I forgot to rate the 2 "b-sides":

Soon: 9/10 Nice little intro that sets the tone for the album
Winter: 9/10 (not the horrible version released for the Brothers soundtrack)
  4. 1. No Line On The Horizon - 8/10
    2. Magnificent - 8/10
    3. Moment of Surrender - 10/10
    4. Unknown Caller - 6/10
    5. I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Crazy Tonight - 7/10
    6. Get On Your Boots - 6/10
    7. Stand Up Comedy - 5/10
    8. Fez-Being Born - 7/10
    9. White As Snow - 4/10
    10. Breathe - 8/10
    11. Cedars Of Lebanon - 7/10
  5. Unknown Callers guitar is superb and the chorus is as well

    10. Breathe - 7/10
    11. Cedars Of Lebanon - 3/10
  8. And we're in minority who likes Stand Up Comedy - I think it would rock if it was played live on big stadiums
  9. 1. No Line On The Horizon - 9/10
    2. Magnificent - 8/10
    3. Moment of Surrender - 10/10
    4. Unknown Caller - 5/10

    10. Breathe - 10/10
    11. Cedars Of Lebanon - 7/10

After years still one of my favourite U2's albums. It brings me back so many nice memories... For me NLOTH is second best album of the two last decades (after SOE which I love, love so much). I regret that NLOTH is so underrated...
  10. 1. No Line On The Horizon - 7/10

Let it be a standalone type of thing, similar to Coldplay's recent album. No tour, not a whole lot of promotion, perform the whole thing live via webcast in Morocco in the same place they recorded it (also from the Magnificent video).

Then in early 2009, release the next BIG U2 album, chock full of songs like GOYB and Crazy Tonight, and do that mega 360 stadium tour.

I actually love that idea. It. Oils have been very cool.
  12. I have fond memories of this record...it came out when I was in college and was my soundtrack to some great memories. While the 360 Tour isn't my favorite in retrospect, it was great to experience (some of) these songs on a massive scale.

    1. No Line On The Horizon - 8/10 - I was floored by Bono's vocals on first listen.
    2. Magnificent - 8/10 - I wish this was the sonic direction of the whole album
    3. Moment of Surrender - 11/10 - Still remains one of my Top 5 U2 songs ever...everything I love about this band
    4. Unknown Caller - 4/10 - Felt cheesy to me in 2009 and still does
    5. Crazy Tonight - 6/10 - Much prefer the 360 remix
    6. Get On Your Boots - 4/10 - For years, I had convinced myself that this was a good tune...it's not haha. But I do like the "let me in the sound" section
    7. Stand Up Comedy - 4/10 - Eh...one of the only U2 songs I feel apathy towards
    8. Fez/Being Born - 6/10 - It never really grabbed me
    9. White As Snow - 6/10 - An interesting vibe, although I much prefer the Linear version of "Winter"
    10. Breathe - 10/10 - This songs means a lot to me, for personal reasons...an anthem for my own challenges with stuttering. And it has so much raw energy, although it never really took off live (save for the Letterman performance)
    11. Cedars of Lebanon 8/10 - Call me crazy, but I always loved this as a closer...it captured the colors that they were reaching for with White As Snow and Fez.

If you take No Line, Magnificent, Moment of Surrender, Breathe, Cedars, it's a killer EP that ranks pretty high in the canon. I'll always wonder what tracks were discarded for those middle 3.
