1. London Calling

    I have just bought that album,you said that I should,and I did

So what do you think about it ? What is your favourite song in the album ? Any song you can suggest ?
  2. I've turned this into a general The Clash topic, alright? We like to have things tidy

  3. You're right sorry I will be careful with it next time
  4. This is the best topic we have for The Clash?

Anyone else a fan? For me they're right up amongst my favourite artists/bands behind U2.

    My album ranking would be:

    1. London Calling
    2. Combat Rock
    3. Sandinista!
    4. The Clash
    5. Give 'em Enough Rope
    6. Cut The Crap

I was going to post a 'Top Ten Tracks' list too, but I'm struggling.
  5. and here i am Tim .. love you hehe .. i guess it was noted i am from my "every now and then" Joe/Clash quoting
i strongly recommend all (you like The Clash or not) watching "Joe Strummer - The Future Is Unwritten" movie

    1. London Calling
    2. The Clash
    3. Sandinista!
    4. Combat Rock/Give 'em Enough Rope
    6. Cut The Crap

Cut the crap "is not" a Clash album .. even Joe disclaimed it

Haha, fair point regarding Cut The Crap. But, they put 'their' name to it. Should've recorded under the pseudonym 'Passengers' or something

I haven't seen that film, it's on YouTube with Italian subtitles though. Might just get it on DVD if it's worth watching.
  7. definetely!!!! .. it shows quite well the life of Joe Strummer till his lost .. and of course The Clash is part of it.
it makes realize how much great he was as a person first and as a musician of course

and Bono is in it so ..
  8. hehehe .. Bono took The Clash and Edge took The Who (Amazing Journey dvd)

Westway to the World is another good one, much more focused to The Clash .. very good but i prefered the other one
  9. quite interesting things on London Calling sleeve

    (pass mouse over "nme" circle)
  10. The best piece of information is this:

Besides smashing his bass, Simonon does have one other regret about the cover. "When I look at it now," he says, "I wish I'd lifted my face a bit more."

  11. Sandinista and London Calling are great albums. I've always liked them. Haven't stepped further into their discography, though...
