1. Last night I listened to Achtung Baby with headphones, and in "Ultra Violet" I noticed something I've not noticed before: In the first chorus (around 1.34 into the song) there seems to be a mistake in the mixing, when the harmony vocal first appears. The harmony vocal appears in the middle of the word "baby".

I posted my finding on Facebook, and a few friends who are professional musicians noticed it also.

Is this corrected on the anniversary release?

EDIT: In this YT-clip it's around 1:38-1:39. Cannot be missed. (Does anybody know if this has ever been discussed?)

  2. No, it's not corrected. I do hear what it is you're pointing out.
  3. Yeah I noticed it, never really sure whether it was intentional or not.
  4. Okay, I was hoping it might have been corrected.

    I don't think it's intentional. I can't see the idea behind that.

It's not a big thing, but the problem ,for me at least, is that I have a hard time not noticing things like this once I've become aware of them

EDIT: So sorry if I've now put you in the same situation, but I had to ask.
  5. I have a faint memory of this being discussed before. I can't be arsed to search for the topic or post, but I think it was.

  6. Yeah I agree, just seems like a silly error to be missed during mixing.
  7. I go slightly off topic now, but I guess most of you have noticed the obvious mistake in Hawkmoon 269 when Edge comes in singing the chorus when it was still verse time. I find that hilarious (and deliberately left there), although I think the Ultraviolet mistake was accidental and they simply didn't notice it.
  8. Sergio what's the timestamp on that?! I've never noticed
  9. can't believe in the 16 years and millions of times i must have listened to this song i've never noticed that...!

and more amazingly, i cant believe it wasn't fixed in the so called 'remaster'...!!
  10. It sounds like it's been overlapped or mis-tracked at that point. I'd never noticed it either but now I'm sure I'll hear it all the time.

There's also another thing to notice about UV - it's been discussed before, but when one of the drum beats is missed out somewhere.

It wouldn't be the first U2 remaster where an obvious error hasn't been rectified.

Well same thing here - before last night! I might actually have been the first time I listened to the song with in-ear headphones, which makes you notice stuff like that easier.
  12. I've noticed it before but I've always thought that it was meant to be of the song and wasn't a fault.
