1. My favourite group (AFTER U2, OF COURSE!!!) is Coldplay!
They're music so slow, quiet, but deep in emotions... THAT'S BEAUTIFUL!
My favourite Coldplay song is Yellow.

Please, friends, right a comment here if you like Coldplay and tell us your favourite Coldplay song.
    BYE!
  2. Well, Coldplay is a great band. the Scientist is one of the best songs ever written. Yellow is a great one too But the last album, X&Y, was really nothing. Their first two were exceptional. Their ambition is to be the greatest band on earth. They will not be when U2 is still active! But a band that can make songs like Clocks, In My Place, Trouble,Shiver,The Scientist,Yellow must be great! Never heard them live, is there anyone who can tell me how that sounds?
  3. Coldplay used to be my number one band before U2, Coldplay was the first artist I really was a fan of, I did collect all their stuff earlier. Now I rarely listen to it anymore, but if they are attending Holland again I'll be there, just like in 2005 which was a great show
  4. I had the pleasure of meeting a couple of the boys in Liverpool whilst they were recording the 2nd album, good lads. The Scientist or Don't Panic are my Favourites.

Well, I don't completely agree with you about their last album. You're right when you say that their first two were superior, but I consider X & Y more interesting and beautiful than what you do. Just look at songs like Fix You (BEAUTIFUL!!!), X & Y, Swallowed in the sea, Tha hardest part, What if, Speed of sound (GREAT!). I think they are good songs! Of course the best X & Y song is Fix you, for me.

Hey Remy! I'm happy to know that another great fan of the U2 (as you are) also like Coldplay! This is a confirm of my idea about the little but important similarity between these two groups. Probabily Coldplay never overtake (and maybe neither reach...) U2 in most of their features, but they are another great group of our strange and a little bad era.
    Bye!

Well, I said it wrong. X&Y is nothing compared to their first 2 albums. The songs you mention are great indeed. I think I'm going to play it again, then i will hopefully notice taht this album isn't that bad!
  8. Coldplay..yes, when I heard Clocks(was the first song I heard of them) I thought U2 had brought out a new single(I knew I was wrong with that, but it really has a sort of U2-sound). I liked it, and my older brother bougth all their albums. But I soon realised that U2 is way better. Of course Coldplay is a young band compared with U2, and they have a long time ahead of them. They can only get better, especially when working with Eno.

    Positive about Coldplay:
+ The best rock group from my generation
    + Good music
+ Good band, they play for the music and fans and not only for the money etc.
+ They have a lot potential

Negative about Coldplay in my opinion:
    - The songs sometimes have the same sound
    - I don't like Chris Martin's voice(=) )
    - They never will and never can top U2

Besides U2, I like the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Got all their albums too and they produce music for about 25 years now, just like U2. So everyone has it's own taste, even die-hard U2-fans

  9. i like Coldplay more than U2 a year and a half ago but then i started liking U2 because all my favorite artists (Coldplay, Arcade Fire, Foo Fighter, Franz Ferdinand, etc.) said they got infuences from U2. so im always like "who is this, U2" so at the grammies when they took 5 grammies 4 the Bomb i was like woa........ there good. They must make good music and Vertigo rocked that night!!!! so after theati got the 2 best of's and bought like everything else of iTunes.......... so Coldplay is still #2 but U2 4EVER!!!

X&Y IS AN AWESOME ALBUM!!! STILL CANT GET ENOUGH!

all coldplay songs are good too...

Yes, ofcourse I know Oasis...but they are from the early nineties. Maybe I said it wrong with the words 'my generation' (born in 1988). I mean Coldplay is one of the best rockgroups from nowadays era(2000-2010)..

    Excuse moi
