  2. yeah band was ready to play this tonight, edge chimes a bit too high, but they bring it back in and..wide awake...here we go, i'm NOT sleeping
  3. bono just decides to sing this song, letting the band build it and he comes in to just pick it up and here we go again....larry grooving, adam following, edge waiting...and cue edge...wow they are blistering right now!!!!! can't keep this, ok here come wide awake, bringing it back down like this is 1987, they are really playing tonight...MOS...just an incredible song, they could play that 5 different ways and, ok WOWY...very delicate transition so far, not sure if bono missed or he decided the band was letting it build there, back on point...larry jumps a bit there, puts the song off for a moment, here comes adam to help, now larry got it, edge perfect, adam...yep here he comes...bono and band keeping it melancholy so far, not real ups and downs yet, but...bono goes for it vocally and band responds...crowd been great throught...he gets the first whooo's...he gets the second whooo's...worth it, bonos voice strongest part of this leg, really the highlight of this leg, no shine, but great stuff here
  4. good enough COBL, but how were they not adding a song to the encore every night...its because of streets and ONE, tough to put something in there to fit, they never should have been paired as the last two songs of the night...

America, not just a country but an idea...it relates to the evolution of humans, this is the last land of cultural mass discovered, we got all 4 seasons, mountains, plains, farm lands, ports, wilderness and cities, borders that can be protected, this land mass was just made to be the ideal settlement and the fact that it happened to come at the end of human migration...i'll say it, we got lucky...America is still an idea, I will never know the yearn the band felt from outside this country but I am aware of the allure of that yearn, I don't flaunt it or take it forgranted because I was born here...but I do embrace it...40

    And somewhere along the line, we all came from there... Someone, somewhere in our family trees had that longing, that yearning, that dream, that idea... to come here from there. No them, only us...
