1. Absolutely agreed.

It's just that I cannot imagine a U2 concert with not post-87 material whatsoever. We can only wish! But I doubt they do it. They'll bang 5-8 hits from the 90s and 00s for sure.

    This for sure.

I think songs like Elevation, CoBL, and maybe even Mysterious Ways will get a rest but I'd be (pleasantly) shocked if Beautiful Day and Vertigo get dropped. Also, One will likely return to being a "full-time" song.
  3. A lot of us (myself included) have been making setlists full of pre-JT stuff. There's a good chance we only get Pride and SBS.

    Boo! I'm not a ghost.
    Booooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

I think it will be half and half of pre Joshua and post Joshua material
  5. Let's try again:

    Vertigo
    I Will Follow
    Beautiful Day
Until the End of the World
    New Year's Day
    Every Breaking Wave

    Streets...
    ...
    ... Mothers

    Desire
    Pride
    SBS
    Bad
    One
  6. Makes perfect sense and they could very well opt for something like that, but kicking off a Joshua Tree show with Vertigo makes me
  7. I'd love Edge to dig out his effects settings that he used in 87. Pride, Streets etc etc sounding like they did back then. They sound way too overdone these days. A lot more raw back in 87.

Definitely. I was just trying to be realistic. Lots of songs need a rest (or be put into rotation) but Vertigo tops that list by a country mile. Sure, it "rocks" but they have so many other alternatives in their back catalogue.

    Agreed.

It's gotta be either Streets, or something off Boy.

    ...

Or Pete The Chop, Magic Carpet, The Fool, etc
  10. Where The Streets Have No Name
    Trip Through Your Wires/ Hallelujah
    Gloria
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - Gospel version with choir
    Spanish Eyes
    With or Without You
    ---
    (acoustic set: )
    Walk to the Water
    Silver and Gold
    Mothers of the Disappeard
    ---
    October
    The Unforgettable Fire
    In God's Country
    Sunday Bloody Sunday
Exit / Riders On The Storm (snippet) / Van Morrison's Gloria (snippet)
    Bad
    One Tree Hill
    ---
Bullet The Blue Sky / Desire 2017.
    Red Hill Mining Town
    Running To Stand Still
    40
  11. The setlist is a really exciting thought. It would be great for them to crack out songs like A Sort of Homecoming and 11 O'Clock Tick Tock and some b-sides. What I'd really hope for is Rattle and Hum material, such as God Part II and Hawkmoon, but maybe that's a bit optimistic. They could play with so much here, but I reckon playing the Joshua Tree is full is the ballsiest thing they will undertake - everything else will be relatively safe.
