A solid early Popmart performance which is more rehearsed when compared to the Vegas show two weeks prior, although still not perfect by any means as the band is still working out how the new material should sound on stage, though by this point, they are starting to get the hang of things here. Bono is in decent shape here, sounding better than Vegas, although not as good as the previous show in Eugene and he does have noticeable iffy moments in places. As a whole, the band are starting to get a hang of things.
Mostly a good IEM recording remastered by Hoserama/Sharebear, although it does have the flaws of having cuts, disturbances and crew chatter with the last one being somewhat annoying, for the most part. Even without audience noise, the recording is a fair listening experience with the best quality. Recording: "IEM Remastered" - 4 stars
IEM Recording pretty much made them inaudible.
Overall, this is a good early Popmart performance, which is mostly standard in terms of what's going on and still has the band adjusting, although the best feature about this show is the fact that it is a snippetfest containing 15 snippets overall, along with this being the final show to feature the original Popmart setlist as Do You Feel Loved? is dropped after this show. It's a good send-off for the song's short life span on stage. While it might not be the best Popmart show out there, I still enjoyed it and would tell people to give this show a chance for its uniqueness for the tour, too, due to being a snippetfest with the original setlist featuring Do You Feel Loved? and If God Will Send His Angels, which is backed up by a decent band performance.

Early Popmart show. Starting to pull things together, but still some mess-ups during the show. Staring at the Sun takes a while to come together, Bono turns into a major asshole during Miami, and the band forgets how to end With or Without You. I get the feeling they couldn't wait to end the show by the end. Nice little soundcheck bonus, with some full songs and warm-ups.
Soundcheck was a pretty solid standard Edge feed. Did the usual basic eq/reverb/etc. No static cleanup needed. The show had a decent amount of static and rf noise, especially in the second half of the show. The most interesting version of with or Without You I've heard was unfortunately striken with a good amount of static. Did the best I could to clean it up, but you'll probably notice some glitches. The feed is from the crew feed, so you'll notice crew talk and instruments/vocals switching in the feed.
This recording was stolen way back in the day in the infamous shower heist, and slowly was traded out from there. A while back it (and later the soundcheck) was torrented, but it ran slow and sounded bad. I'm unsure if it was intentionally traded with the speed/sound issues to preserve its "trade value" (as was done by these lovely thieving traders by some of the European Pop IEMs), or if the source was just a multi-gen analog tape. In either case, this is from a much better source and cleaned up. Enjoy y'all.
Please don't sell this recording in any way - no cash for blanks, 2:1s, or any other form of "getting paid for your time". Just share it freely.
Please do not attempt to remaster/remix this recording and spread it around. There is little to no point of trying to compete with the original processing. It just creates problems with conflicting effects and processing errors. If you need to re-eq it for your own listening pleasure, that's fine, just don't spread it around.
This recording was transferred from a first generation DAT to CDR. It was later converted to MP3 192 kbps. Sound quality is very good, and the only reason this is not graded as "excellent audience" is a slight lack of crispness. Audience noise is minimal.
