Performance

Clearly moved by the passing (suicide) of their good friend Michael Hutchence, it seems like the band (and Bono in particular) struggle to give their all tonight. While some songs (see the highlights section down below for a list of those) are performed excellently with great vocals and often great and fitting snippets to pay tribute to one of their friends and a great singer, other songs feature Bono's voice sounding weak, breaking or sounding unstable or Bono just choosing strange approaches like speaking lines and hitting notes way off. Additionally, although the band is mostly tight, the Edge notably messes up during the first verse of 'Until the End of the World' and again later during 'Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me'. Generally, both encores are notably sloppier compared to the rest of the show but the second one features some of THE best performances of 'Mysterious Ways' and especially 'One', which features MANY great embellishments and phrasings, a great 'Waltzing Matilda' intro and a very emotional 'Wake Up Dead Man' as its outro.

Sound

Incredible sound quality and on top of that the audience is still audible.

Audience

Good audience that are singing along passionately to the older material and cheering loud and clear for most speeches and newer songs alike.

Overall

Not the best PopMart show, definitely not one of the worst. Here are the highlights:

• All I Want Is You / Never Tear Us Apart
• Staring at the Sun / MLK
• Bullet the Blue Sky
• Please
• Where the Streets Have No Name (one of the best versions on the entire tour!)
• Mysterious Ways
• One / Wake Up Dead Man

Unfortunately, I also have to list two songs as lowlights:
• Until the End of the World: Bono rapping the verses and Edge playing a bum note in the first verse
• New Year's Day: Apart from the bridge very low-effort and low-energy vocals that don't fit the song
