2009-08-20 - Sheffield, England - Don Valley Stadium

setlist

Support act: The Hours, Elbow
Performance notes: U2's first outdoor concert in Sheffield, and their first in the city since 17 June 1992. 300th performance of Beautiful Day. Happy Birthday is sung by Bono, Edge, and the crowd for Willie Williams. A very brief snippet of Gloria is at the end of Streets; it is the first time anything from October appears in any manner at a 360° Tour concert.

Performance

An excellent performance for the penultimate show on the 1st leg of the 360 tour, featuring everyone in inspired form delivering fantastic performances throughout with few mistakes, and even when mistakes do happen during this show, it's mainly just slight lyric fumbles from Bono. Speaking of Bono, he is in great voice, although he does have slightly rough moments here and there, possibly due to being near the end of the tour leg, though these don't get in the way of the overall performance.

Sound

Fantastic sound due to being a radio broadcast.

Overall

A phenomenal 360 tour show featuring the fantastic combination of an excellent performance, which is backed up by great-sounding audio, which genuinely makes this a go-to show for the tour. Every song in the set is done well, and while it might be a more "standard" set when compared to other shows on the leg, it doesn't defer from how good this show is in any way. One of the best shows on the tour and one I'd definitely recommend to those wanting to hear a top 360 tour show.
