Performance

Proof that the Edge is the hardest working man in rock and roll. Larry and Adam never miss a beat. Bono is very Bono and he gives it his all.

Sound

This sounds like being there, but better. The instruments come through very clearly - except when everybody is jamming at once on the more electro songs like Get on Your Boots the sound is more like a stew than crisp individual parts. Bono's vocals have a bit of a stadium sound to them that you wouldn't get from a soundboard but everything his says is very clear. I commend the taper for an awesome job in a difficult atmosphere. U2 is clearly decades beyond being a bar band but this show retains a personal feel even in a massive stadium setting and the personal touch is well captured by this recording.
Recording: "Schoeps CCM4 - Sound Devices 702" - 4 stars

Audience

Very good. Best example is the singing on Still Haven't Found. Applauded all of Bono's political stuff (which was a lot) and really appreciated the encores.

Overall

We tailgated and grilled and took turns cranking U2 songs with the car next to us (we didn't know them). Muse was fantastic. Great to hear the old and new songs. I was glad there was no Zooropa and Pop (although they are now kind of a novelty to me since I didn't play them for so long). The acoustic Stuck in a Moment was fantastic as was the closing Moment of Surrender. It was nice Bono actually sang all the words to One. I've only been to three U2 concerts so I don't think I'm qualified to give it a 5, but I'm confident in the 4 1/2 rating.
