The band was on top form and surprised by the positive reaction of the crowd, singing along every song, following Bono shouts of "Briosa" at the intro song, honouring the home based football team who plays this stadium, which lead the home crowd to craziness. The band early on the day visited the city Coimbra, and Bono told the audience what U2 have done if they had gone to the local University.
Almost as good as a soundboard. Recording: "Drew's 2-Source Matrix" - 4.5 stars
Fantastic night, starting with Bono screaming Briosa, Briosa at Return of the Stingray, shouts "can you hear me" during Crazy Remix, and everyone responds with loud roar, he says "Malta fantástica" before Streets. All songs are performed well, with excellent performance by band and Bono. Magnficent was...Magnificent with its city starting vocal in clear Portuguese; Lisboa, Porto, Braga...Coimbra led to craziness. Still haven´t found was amazing...Miss Sarajevo is surely his best performance ever of the song. Hopefully we will see U2 like that on 2015!
Having seen U2 in Dublin July 25, 2009, which I thought was one of their best performances ever, in Coimbra 2010, they seemed more relaxed and crazy. Strangely, Coimbra crowd was even crazier than the Irish one in Dublin. Overall, U2 seemed like Port Wine; getting better with age!

Thanks to Bedoc for allowing me to use both recordings to make this matrix. I must say, this is a good one. If you like the San Sebastian matrix, you'll like this. I did the usual of removing clapping and yelling, as much as possible anyway. both are solid recordings, so this makes for a solid matrix.

- Concert :

"It didn't communicate the way it was intended to. It's my daughter's favorite U2 album, and people are warming up to it now. But it was supposed to change the mood of that summer. An album changes the mood of a summer when you walk out of a pub and you have those songs in your head. And you hear them coming from a car, an open window. It changes the mood of the season. Instead it became a niche record."
- Bono on Pop, 2005
did you know
'40' from the War album almost was never recorded. The band (minus Adam Clayton who had left the studio) had gone over their booked studio time, but convinced the studio manager to let them record '40'. The Edge plays both electric and bass guitar on the song. It was a last addition to the album, but has closed many shows over the decades.
