Comments: U2 arrived in Winnipeg on 27 May and spent both that night and the next rehearsing in private at the Burton Cummings Theatre. Songs rehearsed are listed in the soundcheck field. As for this gig itself, Moment Of Surrender is not played even though it was on the printed setlist as the closer. This is just the second time it has missed a 360° Tour gig, after 9 December 2010 in Brisbane. At the end of the main set, Bono leads the crowd in singing Happy Birthday for Amnesty International's 50th birthday; the article which inspired its founding was published on 28 May 1961 and it coalesced into a permanent organisation later that year. An archive of tweets for this show can be found here. Setlist and comment provided by U2gigs.com.

Where to start? Haha. I was so excited for the show. My second time seeing them on the 360 tour (First time in Vancouver) I had 4 friends with me and we got there around 9am to wait. (They weren't too happy for that) But I was so excited. When we got the inner circle I was just so happy. When they came on I went nuts, trying to get the others around me to jump, got a few. It was awesome from start to finish. Pretty much the whole set was amazing.

I got together with a group of friends to see U2 playing in Winnipeg. A very cold day in Winnipeg but a very cool gig.
The band was in a great mood and played for a sold out stadium. It had been almost 15 years since the last U2 gig in Winnipeg, the last time U2 was there was during the Popmart tour.
Moment Of Surrender was not played even though it was on the printed setlist, it is believed that it was because
of the curfew. I had totally forgotten about this recording but I'm glad I found it. It's a very clean recording with
no interferences. A friend of mine from Europe asked this, I hope you like it :)

U2 returns to Winnipeg for the first time since Popmart (which was my first ever U2 concert back in 1997)
Throughout the band changeover, the scrolling screen refers to "Winipeg" which certainly doesn't go unnoticed
by the fans, or the band for that matter.
The Royal Canadian Air Force does a flyover just before the show starts. The Poem before "Beautiful Day" is
actually the lyrics to "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet" by Winnipeg's Bachman Turner Overdrive. Despite "Moment
of Surrender" being on the printed setlist, the show ends after "With or Without You" either because of the
curfew or because of the ever dropping temperature.
Overall a pretty nice recording of a great night, there is a little wind pressure from time to time (which I
really only noticed in the quieter/acoustic spots of the set) but it was really quite windy in this small,
open-ended stadium. Special thanks to the drunken idiots behind me, thank god for hypercards!

"It's a song about nobility and personal sacrifice, about doing what's right, even if your heart is telling you otherwise."
- Bono on Walk On
did you know
The lyrics of The Ground Beneath Your Feet were written by Salman Rushdie, and he is featured in the video, shown writing the song. Rushdie also provides an account of his relationship with the band and how the song came to be written in his book of essays, Step Across This Line.
