Performance

The band seemed very engaged and 'on' to be playing again in front of live audience. Proud of our Dutch man on drums - it was clear he has been a student of Larry. Some very strong moments during the show, in particular I liked the 4 songs of Achtung Baby in chapter 2 (Acrobat, So Cruel, Ultraviolet, Love is Blindness); in particular together and with the new sequence, for me this was the part where the performance was lifted from 'known greatest hits' to 'something truly special'. And seeing & hearing Love is Blindness for the first time ever, after having seen every tour since 1997, in and by itself was worth the 10 hour flight.

What keeps it from a 5 star for me was that I missed those 1-2 moments of 'musical and emotional overdrive' where the chains from production come off because of the interaction between band and audience. Like "I will follow" in AMS 2017, like "Bad" in AMS 2015, like "Original of the species" in MSG 2005, like the entire concert under the bridge in New York, and like "Rain" in Rotterdam in 1997. My reflection in hindsight was that this is maybe more difficult to achieve in the Sphere where it's more like a cinema than an arena or stadium. But again - totally worth the trip and a very special concert to add to my memories.

Audience

Ok at times - but never the complete craziness of some stadium gigs. Probably has to do with the design of the Sphere where you see much less of your fellow audience (we were in GA - so you dont even notice whoever is behind you)

Overall

Great to see the biggest band in the world (in my humble view) claim their spot by elevating the concert experience into a very new version. In particular with a 30 year old album featured so prominently. After the show, I still don't understand why So Cruel wasn't played before, why it took Acrobat >25 years to get played and and why Love is Blindness has been missing in action for so long. They were all the very highlights of the show for me.
