1992-10-10 - Tampa, Florida - Tampa Stadium

setlist

Performance notes: Larry sings Whiskey In The Jar for the last time. At the end of the main set, a U2 fan is brought on stage to play guitar and U2 let him play a song he wrote himself, entitled An Eye For An Eye Makes The Whole World Go Blind. During this time, U2 take a break, and as they were not involved in playing the song, it is not listed in the setlist above.

Performance

This is another fantastic Zoo TV show with great performances all around. The opening Achtung Baby section is great with a tight band performance and Bono sounding as good as he can; the harmonies are top notch as well. 'Mysterious Ways' in particular sounds stunning with everything falling into place and Bono giving a superb performance of the song, including Donna Summer's 'Love to Love You Baby' snippet and lots of great falsetto. 'One' / 'My Girl' is absolutely beautiful.

The energy at the start of 'New Year's Day' is absolutely CRAZY with Bono hyping up the crowd before belting out great notes and adlibbing his way through the intro. 'Tryin' to Throw Your Arms Around the World' is quite messy with Bono singing wrong lyrics (not talking about deliberate lyric changes) and skipping a few lines. The 'Singing in the Rain' snippet sounded AWESOME as the band was already playing 'Angel of Harlem'. Bono then performs about a minute of the song as a full on cover afterwards. 'When Love Comes to Town' features a ton of energy, 'Satellite of Love' is gorgeous. An equally beautiful 'Dear Prudence' finishes off the acoustic set.

'Sunday Bloody Sunday' is one of the most aggressive versions I've heard, let alone from this tour with Bono screaming out those words in pure anger. The same goes for 'Bullet the Blue Sky' where Bono curses at himself for starting the first verse early and then gives one of the most angry perfomances of the song, dropping more F-bombs during the verses. 'Running to Stand Still' features a gorgeous intro and some speaksinging but overall is a bloody amazing rendition. 'Where the Streets Have No Name' sounds great with fun lyric changes applied by Bono.

The guy performing his own song was actually really good! 'Desire' is a great performance with Bono sounding powerful and everyone going off with lots of energy. 'With or Without You' starts off with a beautiful synth intro and is, for some reason, the last U2 song performed this evening. While Bono sounds really gorgeous and powerful on it, the third verse and bridge are skipped.

Sound

Listening to the show from DATfly's Master tape and it sounds brilliant, only suffering slightly from the taper standing a bit far in the back as he himself confirmed.
Recording: Audience microphone - 3 stars

Audience

Really good American crowd with lots of enthusiasm and cheering in between songs.

Overall

Without a doubt one of the best shows on the entire tour!
