1. Ok... let's see if I can get this thing started.

It started in the Adam's t-shirts Collect Them All thread.
Sometimes I have some U2 thoughts, and this time I thought that I would really love to collect some sticker album about U2, and since there's none of those around, I thought I could give it a try to create one.
    And so here we are.

It started with the t-shirts but... you know me, you've already seen my pic and read my comments... I love this tour.
So I extended the album to the whole first leg of the tour.
There's many moments worth remembering, LA5, the first time they played Crystal Ballroom, the impressive Raised By Wolves, or the time Chivas defeated Atlas 4-1 in the playoffs (oh, wait, that's a different thread).

So, while we wait for them to release Songs Of Experience, how about collecting some stickers for an album of our favourite band?

It's not 100% ready yet, but I'm hoping to, like James would say, "getting away with it all messed up"... I mean, just yesterday we were still enjoying Until The End Of The World in Boston's 4th show, and New York hasn't even started yet. But in the meantime you can download the cover and the first 12 pages: one for each city they have played so far, and two for those cities with 4 or more shows. Oh, and one for the Roxy.

There's two versions uploaded, the hi-res is 20+Mb and you can download it by clicking on the cover below.
The low-res is 3Mb and is the size of the cover below, you can download it a little bit further below the cover.

    Sticker Album -Low Resolution- 3Mb

    Now, about the stickers...

    These are the sticker packs:

And as you can see, if you click on it you'll download that pack. It contains 5 stickers that you can... err... well, sadly you can't actually put them in your album, but if you have a little bit of imagination, it could be fun to collect them anyway.

In order to collect them all, you'll need to FIND or GAIN those packs.

    FIND? GAIN? HOW?

Well, for instance, I've already hidden 10 of those packs in posts I've made in different threads of the forums. Actually, I've already mentioned those 10 threads (and some details on where in those threads) in the first few paragraphs of this post. So, if you're interested, you can try to find them.

Alternatively, later (or tomorrow) (or during the weekend), I'll post more ways on how you can earn those packs (CMPalaeo's games thread would be used), depending a bit on how many people is interested in collecting these cards.

BE AWARE though, that -like in any sticker album- some stickers will appear over and over again, and some others will be a lot harder to get. So... don't be upset if the pack you find contains cards that you already have. That happens.

So... hopefully you'll enjoy it, and happy hunting!
  2. dude this is amazing!
  3. D-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y too much time on your hands.

But what an amazing project I will be participating if only for the sake of procrastinating more and more and even more
  4. Congratulations my friend on this project of yours. I know the time and effort you've been putting into this and it is reflected on this amazing idea.
I'll be participating, no doubt. Hope more people join in.
Can we "put" the card in the album just with Paint?
  5. @Bloodraven - Dude! This is AMAZING! I've been following the progression over in the 'Adam's t-shirts' thread and hoped you'd figure out a way to do something.

Love this. What a way to keep the excitement of the tour going even after Boston is over, and with it, my chance to see them live for who knows how long!

    Definitely will participate!

Paul - Who, like LikeASong, needs more ways to procrastinate
  6. I have a (free) program called Inkscape, which is like a poor man's version of Adobe Illustrator. I think I can put my stickers in the album with that program.

EDIT: Yeah, it worked! Now I can fill my album!

I wonder if I can do this with the GiMP (an free/open source software package similar to PhotoShop). Probably. I'm torn though. Part of me wants to print them all out and literally tape them in place like with a real sticker book. But another part of me wants this to look really nice
  8. My Vancouver album so far.

    And Phoenix:

I want to see other people's albums!
  9. Are the png file names (i.e. the numbers) the show number the image is from? For example, in Pack 1 above, there's 07.png. Does that mean Show #7?

Oh, wait, the sticker spots are numbered in the album itself!

    Excellent, that make sense!
  11. Cool, 5 extra sets of stickers found so far. But I already got repeated stickers!
  12. I already found 9 packages, and I have an idea where the other is, but went there and found nothing
