  1. the only thing that i missed on dirty day perfomance was the drum intro like zoo tv/studio version.. is such a powerful drum, but, larry has performed only on cymbals

  2. Feel the enemy-y-y.
  3. might be wrong but anyone else noticed the thick sides of larrys glasses ?

Just caught it on Youtube...God awful
  5. At the gig last night and one of the best I l've been to in 30 odd years. But I do think some of fans need to have a word with themselves just because your have been to x number of gigs this tour it does not mean you have a right to the front rail or push people out of the way. Back to the gig, as soon as Bono had stopped singing Joey he was in a big black car with a police escort going home. Rant over, see you kids tonight for Dublin 4 and let's enjoy it while we can.
  6. My vids from last night. Sorry for the jumping/screaming as usual

  7. This version of Dirty Day is incredibly moving.
    I think it's absolutely magnificent.
Fits the narrative really well - as does Beautiful day early on - an innocent open
    ' joyous ' song.
What a great end to this tour.
I sincerely hope this isn't the end but so much of this feels like it could be. Closure

    Dead right -
It’s a powerful show but a lot of people don’t enjoy it unless it’s at the rail through the screen of an iPhone. Just be happy they’re in Dublin and that the band clearly listen and are always trying to throw little nuggets to fans (e.g. the miracle snippet)

That said, would be awesome to see Bono outside today - does anyone know if he’s been coming to say hi to fans and what time approx?
  9. He came out tuesday on the south entrance of the arena. Aprox at 5.30 pm
  10. Awesome thank you.

I've been silent for a while instead of participating in discussions like I used to because of the change of atmosphere around since the last album and tour started. I wont be coming back to this forum\site as the relentless negativity becomes unbearable with time.

And I'm not talking about negative opinions on the band's work, which is of course perfectly fine. I really dislike the encores myself and I'm glad to discuss that, for example.

I'm speaking of the hostility of some people commenting. Hostility towards other opinions and towards the band. I saw some days ago someone say "fuck these guys for X thing I don't like" referring to the band. I don't think insulting other members is allowed on here, would insulting U2 be ?

Some of you will never be satisfied by anything from the band anymore in any way, and it feels like following U2 is bad for your own mood, so I suggest stopping, really.

Sorry for the long ranty message, I really didn't want to make it about myself or anything, just felt it needed to be said. Most of you here are really lovely people and that should be said too, I enjoyed these forums a lot ! Hope all the best for this community ?
Sorry to hear that you feel there is too much negativity on U2Start Sven. I'm not going to argue about this. Not because I am agreement, or disagreement, but because there is nothing to argue about. You just feel it that way and I respect that.

However, and this I say to everyone, the U2start motto still is: share your passion, and not "share your criticism," or even "share your cynicism."

That doesn't mean that one isn't allowed to be critical or cynical (and as anyone here can testify, U2Start is quite tolerant for all sorts of U2 opinions), but it does mean that we - and every user here on U2start! - have a responsibility to the site and to everyone "on board", to make the "share your passion" attitude the dominant one.

These Dublin shows - and the upcoming Berlin "DVD" show - may very well be the last shows we'll see for a while. Now let's focus on celebrating our common passion for U2 and be all reflective, critical or melancholic afterwards. This U2 is the only U2 we have, so let us enjoy it as long and as best we can

    - otherwise we wouldn't be having this site, no?
