1. We are happy to announce The U2start Podcast! A new way of involving you in the world of U2 and a new way for us to reach out to you, fans and U2starters. A great milestone for this great community. It was about time

With the 2019 tour happening in a few months and with us travelling to most of the shows, we wanted to find new ways of taking you with us on this journey and the podcast will play a big role in this.

The first episode is now available and is the first in a smaller series of podcasts that will lead up to the opening night of the tour in Auckland, New Zealand. There, we will talk about the shows, talk with fans, bring you updates from the ground, talk about a variety of topics and also make a lot of fun.

Your podcast hosts are myself and Joeri. The music is created by LikeASong.

Episode #1 - World Records, Relevance and Heading Down Under

We are joined in this first episode by Jaime, a fan since U2's Super Bowl performance. Jaime works for Guinness World Records, a record list full of U2. We talk about those records, discussing the ones which U2 holds and which they don't. And what do these records mean when it comes to "relevance"? And which fan holds the world record of the largest collection of U2 memorabilia?

You can listen to the podcast on our podcast page, but we are also on Spotify, Google Podcast, Stitcher, TuneIn and soon we will be on Apple Podcasts too. Just search for "U2start". Let us know what you think! We'll be back next month with episode #2

    References episode #1

Some references for the things that were discussed in this episode: searching the Guinness World Records for "U2", the photo from Chapel Hill, the show in Hawaii, Elevation's show in Miami and the epic Zoo TV show in Milan.

Nice! All part of one podcast or just different ones?
  6. A little addition to Remy’s post above. As we just started making a podcast we are happy to hear your tips and recommendations.

Or if you have ideas for a episode theme or something else you would like to hear us talk about us. Feel free to let us know!
  7. Great stuff, looking forward to listening and hopefully it stays as a regular thing.
  8. I listened and I am looking forward to the next one. Maybe something on each tour!
  9. What a great idea! Will give this a listen today!
  10. On a 5 hr train journey from Sydney to Tamworth, a good place to tune into the first U2start podcasts. Looking forward to see it evolve but this was pretty good for a first one! it was a very pleasant experience listening to Sergios sound bites and the chat! Good food for the mind.

    I'm very curious ,

How long have you been sitting on the idea of making a podcast ,
What did it take to start the process of recording / making it.

And (if any) where there any kinks, hardships, mistakes at all ? That you found and had to work out before airing this first episode?

Other than that, again congrats on this new milestone.
I hope you lads had and keep having a ton of fun!
I'm sure that as long as you don't force making an episode, the ideas will keep coming, an the podcasts are gonna be a pleasure to listen to , after all we share the same passion for the band.
  11. My bad just saw this Remy, we just did one pod on U2’s discography basically
