That said, I enjoyed all three. As I will four...as soon as it happens.
My God, I had forgotten how much energy OOC into Vertigo into IWF had. What a first quarter of hour, I think I've never lived such a powerful sequence at any other U2 concert. The beggining of Dublin4 was pretty brutal but Lights Of Home kinda killed the flow. It would have been much better at #4, letting The Blackout segue into IWF and there to Gloria. Lights Of Home at #2 was quite a letdown!
  2. I feel like JT was so much better than America’s E+I tour and it’s not even close
  3. 2018 (except Tulsa )was bad up until Copenhagen 2
  4. That’s my exact point and I got the next show after Tulsa so that definitely adds to my disappointment looking back. The tour in Europe was such a better show.
  5. The changes from Copenhagen 2 did make a significant difference I still liked the earlier shows though (to listen to, I didn’t attend). I do have to admit if they didn’t give us the Berlin suite I probably would have placed E&I behind both JT17 + 19 tours but the heavy AB presence and a couple from Zooropa felt like the band were literally playing a gig just for me, I was waiting for someone to pinch me and wake me up from my dream when they started adding they songs to the set just a few weeks before I was about to see them. It was great to see love is bigger and lights of home in there every night and they managed to avoid what I think was the weakest song in the album showman, I enjoyed the others from SOE as well. Plus the changes from North America to Europe were favourable for me also, although I would have liked SATS and SOL to rotate that would have been perfect, but the New Years Day remix was excellent and Real Thing is better than Desire imo.
  6. Only attended late stage E/I, night 4 in Milan. Refrained from watching Paris dvd to be setlist/stage unspoiled.

Honestly, I would have sold my tickets to the shows I was going to see after attending Berlin and Paris if they didn’t change the set list. 3-ish times of the same set list was more than enough, lol. Berlin 1 was not a good opening leg night. It was very disappointing. I enjoyed Berlin 2 more until Bono lost his voice. The Paris shows I saw were meh. Berlin 3 and Belfast 1 are still the best shows I’ve attended. The set change sparked new life into the tour.
  8. Can't really remember what caused the sudden setlist change after Copenhagen 1. Was it sth the band intended to do eventually at some point in the European leg for whatever reason or did it happen because of Bono's voice loss?
Also, TUF would be a great encore opener, since they already dusted it off even for just one show.

They realised the EI DVD would be extremely similar to the IE DVD.

They started rehearsing TUF in Cologne, Stay in Paris.
  10. I thought Bono's singing was slightly stronger during my ie show than ei, but the narrative, the way I felt after realizing during Desire that I had too "lost my innocence" was very powerful indeed. Following that up with Acrobat knocked me off my feet. Thanks to the narrative lead up, I was there, with Bono/Macphisto, believing that if I closed my eyes, I could feel the enemy and wondering what had happened to My face of melting snow. My ranking:
    EI
IE(really close, but I preferred the narrative of EI)
JT 2017- It was good hearing the songs, but although I loved hearing Bad and New Years Day, I felt it lacked the intimacy of SOE and SOI for me. I suppose I prefer arena shows.
