1. I really like this one. Sounds lovely, very intimate. The piano really adds something.
  2. I don't like that they've cut literally half of the first chorus i.e. the responses to each "Stay" (then the night would give you up // then the day would keep its trust)... And it would have been nice if Bono had belted out the final "Staaaaay".

In spite of everything, I don't completely dislike it , which is a real achievement considering it's one of my top 5 of their whole discography.
  3. Honestly, I wonder whether the promo video having the original Zooropa album version was a last-minute change in response to some of the backlash to the initial feedback from some of the songs.
  4. If he couldn’t have belted the last “Stay”, this would have been a PERFECT moment for one of those falsettos he loved so much on this album, followed by a full lift and just a moment to let that note resonate and breathe, followed by the rest of the line.

But no. He just sings the same note and charges ahead.

The most interesting bit about this to me was the literal last chord of the song.

I’m quite cross about what they did to the chorus of this one.
  5. I was pretty disappointed with this at first because I was hoping for a version identical to the acoustic live version but then was very happy when it went down that route after the first chorus. ❤️

Yeah the chorus lyric change on this one is big for me- not too many omitted lyrics but it's a big difference for some of us LOL.. and I loved that full E chord at the end of the song. Wouldn't mind an acoustic version with that guitar and tone in it
  7. this song was re-imagined on a B-stage in 1993. It didn't need re re-imagining. Adds nothing new and is an inferior version
  8. I agree. This one is an automatic skip.
