1. Hi!

As you will probably know, U2 is performing tomorrow at Rostock (Germany) in the context of the G8 meeting there.

Well, here in Spain there has been a lot of talk about this G8meeting, about the AntiGlobalization protests and about the conflict between Russia and Europe and USA about the nuclear weapons etc. and I'm very interested about it, since U2&Politics are on it...

In a post of a week ago aprox. i was called "The future Politician" of the Forum. Well, it's quite true. I LOVE the Politics, and i love argumenting about it.

Sabd7788 knows it, I love talking 'bout politics, and I have no problem to say I'm "left-handed" (Is it said so, really? Not sure!)...
I support with Romano Prodi (IT), Jose Luis Zapatero (ESP), Hillary Clinton (USA), Segolene Royal,Fracois Mitterrand (FRA), Gerhard Schröeder (GER), Shimon Peres (ISR), Lula da Silva (BRA), Wouter Bos (NETH), and all the other left politicians you know.

What do you think about that? Which kind of Politics you support?

I'd love if some of you answer to this one, I like to know HOW a person is when I talk to him...

    See you all!!!
  2. First of all: U2 is NOT gonna play in Rostock. Bono only is there and it's not even confirmed that he is performing. Might be possible that he'll just "perform" his usual BlaBla. But I think he'll sing 2 songs...

When it comes to politics I'm pretty much on the left, too. I'm no fan of any politician, though.
Especially in Germany they're all the same bunch of liars...

All this G8 thing is a slap in the face of everyone. 8 men hidden behind a fence, with protesters forbidden to get closer than 200 meters to that fence, bargain about the world and leave without any results?

Alright! I thought it was full U2... But anyway, to have Bono there will be a thing to be proud for me...

Glad to see you're left, but I think that the people is wrong thinking "they are ALL liars, etc.". I wanna fight against that. There are HONEST politicians. For example, Angela Merkel (which in fact is right handed) seems to behonest, not a liar... I don't really know, but I'd like to think that there are honest politicians. By the way, I'm not fan either of any politician, I only said the ones I support. But I'm fan of U2

Agree. I've just seen on the news that some protestants have got down some parts of the fence, and tehre have been som hurted people.. Fucking Capitalist-Police...
  4. welll seriously I am kind of happy to see that Bono well be their; he is more listend then a group of personne screaming !

And concerning politic well; I don't know the whole thing about the RUssia conflict, all I know is that Poutine as thretend the US about their anti missille project ...

But for politics even for my ''young,' age i'm interested, even if its out ok quebec (where its VERY complicated).

yeah, the same for me. I'm 16 . old, but I'm more interested than the 90 % of the Spanish people...

And what's exactly the problem with Quebec? Even I know the conflict I don't know all the details, though.

    See you!
  6. well its long a long story.

In fact; this years proviencial election were symbolic, but I will get back to this later.

So as you probably konw, Québec is the only french speaking province of Canada (with a small minorty of New-Brunswick). And in the 50's, some people said that Québec will be better as a Country and that they neded to separate from Canada.

This idea took place in the conservative party of quebec (who became the quebecan party), and on the opposite side was the liberal party. Only two party were real contenders for the power in the province. so one side were the ''separatist and on the other side the one who wanted a Provn united with Canada.

SO in the 70's, a group named the ''PPLQ (party pour la libération du québec)'', decide to make things change. So idea of a separation from canada could be heard in other provinces. THey kidnapped a minister and an important gouverment figure. And they also started to make some small bmbs explose in letterbox,

ANd then, something that wasn'int planed arrived; the minister died ! He didn't die because of the kidnappers but for health reason.

So the group started to panic, leaving the body in the streets of montréal.

THe gouverment found it, and then called opon ''war mesures'' so the canadian army walked in the streets of Quebec City, Montréal and Sherbrooke. Concedering the PPLQ as a ''semi-terrorist group''.

But, what you nedd to know is that almost all of the actions made by the party where passific. So collegian, or casual members were arrested.

Finally, the president of the PPLQ decided to but a end to the activities of the aprty and to but the ''PPLQ'' in the and of the Quebecan Party . It all finally came to an end.

So in the years to come, the quebecan party won the elections, and made the population vote. 3 times this happened. Every time the vote went in the favors of the ones whom wanted to stay as a part of Canada.

in 1981, in the third one. the was REALLY close.

49 % voted for the separation and 51% for the ohter side ! After that, the Quebecan party entered in a series of bad years.

So, this year, with a new chief, the quebecan party had big to lose. Because of the popularity of a third party. The ADQ (Action democratique du Québec) lead by the ''young'' Mario Dumont.

And for the first time in the history of quebec, a party not part of the ''two'' was elected as second. So in last election the standings were:

    Liberal: 33 %
    ADQ: 31 %
    Quebecan:28 %
    Others %

So this year, for the first a time a new wave of ideas has it the politics in quebec. So the Mario Dumont them isn't quit liberal but they are not separatist. They say they are ''autonomist''. Wich means that they are for the fact that the provonce shoul have more power. But that Quebec is a nation inside Canada.

And it is to continued !

I would also like to stait myself as against the separation of the province, I think that its simply a manner of years before the Canadian gouverment understands that all of the provinces need to have more power.

once again I apologize for my rought english ...

Hi firend! Thanks for quoting me in this way. I'm proud of that.

And now let's talk about politics...
Well, I have always been on right positions about politics. Anyway I think that the most important thing to say about my political trends is that I'm a moderate. I think that the greatest evil for politics (and so the greatest obstacle on the road to make the world better) is the tendence to stay on extreme positions. If we really want to make a better world we have to collaborate with those who think differently by ourselves, in order to reach a goal that is a collective goal. So we have to left apart the proud and most of all our own individual interests, which live just thanks to our proud.
I finish with a sentence of Bono, said on 2005-07-21 in Milan before singing One: "It's not the Right, it's not the Left. We work together as ONE!"
