1. Not sure if anyone else has these types of stories, but I thought I'd share mine:

    2001, I wait in line at Ticketmaster to get tickets to their Portland show, and get lucky enough to have the FIRST number from the lottery. When the Ticketmaster windows open, I'm the only one at that Ticketmaster location to get general admission tickets, and I'm estatic. Other fans congratulating me, etc. I'm flying high as a kite....

    Then, I call my girlfriend to tell her the good news, and she tells me that my birthday present that year was getting to see U2 from her rich dad's luxury box. I can tell right away that she's really excited about this, thinking that the luxury box offers the best views, and try as I may to explain that I already have the best tickets available (GAs), it doesn't work. Now she's even implying that I'm ungrateful for the effort she went through.

    Sadly, I decided to sell the GA tickets to my brother, who got inside the Heart and got to shake Bono's hand during one song, and I got stuck in a luxury box which was in the back of the area and needed binoculars to see anything. javascript:smiley('');

    Anyone else have stories like this? I should start a support group.

    P.S. - I broke up with her two months later.

  7. By the way (i forgot before), my "What I was thinkg?" moment is near yours...

    After 8 hours at 41ºCelsius (about 106º Fahrenheit!!), from 9 AM to 5 PM waiting on the queue of the Vicente Calderon Stadium, we finally entered to the Stadium almost the first. We ran, and we got into the special zone. Then I asked to my parents to enter to the nearest ellipse (if you have seen the European Vertigo stages, there is a special zone-away from the bigggest part of the crowd, and other zone, into the arms of the B stages), but they said "We already are in a good position".
    They were right (we were on the fence of the special zone), but I would have love to enter the Arms of the central ellipse... I couldn't encourage them to enter...
    Probably if I had insisted more, we could have reached the interior ellpise... We saw the show perfectly, we danced, screamed, sang, cried, I lost my voice completeely... But I missed shaking Bono's hand on Streest!!... ...

    Anyway, I loved the show... Of course the best night of my life!
  8. That is sad.
