1. Point Depot 1989, 1st night.
  2. So many great versions from different tours it's hard to pick one but the visuals on Zoo TV were pretty incredible and brought the song to another level

  3. Lots of great versions between 1987 and 2001. After that, none of the bootleg performances quite live up to that (very high) standard. Obviously, it’s still magical when you are there, witnessing the band performed it at the actual venue.
  4. The JT tours in its 'original' form WTSHNN is special on that tour with its stripped-back stage show and production it makes its performances something else - something historic

The ZOO tours - as popmarter says - brought it to a whole new level not just visually but sonically, and as part of that awesome segue Bullet/Running/Streets it is just spine-tingly epic

On the POP tours it had another awesome segue this time with Please - and it had a new production in-keeping with the whole PopMart ethos. I still get chills now listening to the chiming synths come in after Bono exclaims 'Please' before the song goes up yet another level during its coda morphing into a sort of dance/trance vibe

With the Elevation tours its intro was always enhanced by Bono either seguing AIWIY with amazing soaring vocals (man, such an underrated tour) or a snippet of a prayer or something. The song seemed back to its basics but it didn’t lose any of its majesty

Least said about the Vertigo tour version the better

The 360 tour brought some of the magic back

Later tours? Well, if I'm at the show the intro still gives me chills and I always pogo and yell like a fool but I think its peak was, as RUMMY says 87-2001 - and possibly 360

Yeah. 360 is indeed quite good. I should have mentioned the ‘Streets’ performances from that tour. That “you’ll never walk alone” segue from “Walk On” from that Sheffield ‘09 broadcast is pure magic and the “One / Amazing Grace / Streets” combo from the Rose Bowl show isn’t too shabby.

Edit: I wonder how many times I’ve made this comment in this particular thread over the past few years?! I’m like a broken record!!
  6. Yankee stadium has to be one of the best zoo ones, forgot how flawless it was
  7. The song's power and emotion certainly came back at a peak for the Elevation tour in my opinion.
  8. glad to see this, never had a favourite version. so i’ll check now
