This song is another AB classic
It's an amazing song, I really love it!!! and live versions are increidble!!!
That song is just amazing. It completely blew me away the first time I listened to AB. Right from the start I was like ... OW MY GOD! It's got great lyrics, vocals are done wonderfully by Bono and the live shows with Mirrorball man are just the best!
I just don't feel that the time of this song has come for me...this tune is great (as each track on AB), but it's definately not its finest moment. Ultra Violet is an inseparable part of the album, but as a stand-alone track...well it's just simply good, but not breathtaking. Unfortunately the live versions did not add much vitality to it, especially when performed after 'Desire'.
"I had two jobs in my life. I used to do a summer job in London as a fish porter in Billigsgate. That was a great job, the market used to finish at 11:30 and I would go off buying albums and stuff like get and get to the odd gig. My second job was being a van driver for somebody who delivered pottery to Dunnes stores, which is a discount chain all over Ireland. I thought maybe he would take me the van home at night and I can use it for gigs. He never let me take it home at night."

In late 2004, "Mercy", an unreleased track taken from the How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb sessions, surfaced on the Internet through a fan who had been given a copy of the album containing the extra track. The track is of less than standard audio quality, but managed to become a favorite on fan websites.
