People get caught up because dates are promised, or at least announced. If it was like “You’ll receive this gift whenever. It will be a U2 related surprise.” It would be way different.

And just like that, First World Problem solved...

It just said early 2019 for tracklist but did say January for downloads. I do think you’ll struggle to get this year’s gift for less than the subscription amount, using u22 and from the ground up as a guide anyway. I understand it’s not really life or death but it’s just principal isn’t it, if you let someone borrow a lot of money and they said they’d have it back by January but it gets to February and still no word it’s a first world problem but you’re not going to be happy about it. Not having the downloads isn’t a big problem but constantly failing to keep to there word is.

I get it. But you have to keep in mund that "u2.com" is "LiveNation.com" in these matters.
And, if the gift ends up more, I'll do the subscription re-up. And when I do, the gift will have already been issued, so I won't have to wait.
But the last 3 gifts, I've ordered extras for friends off e-bay and paid under $20 for all of them. So, I'll check the market out and see what the demand is. US sellers are always greedy and overinflate the value at first, (i.e. - the nutters who are still aking from $50 - $250 for Another Time, Another Place, when there are a ton of them up for $10 -$15) But most seem to get a reality and the market settles. If not, I buy in... I'm really not all that concerned about keeping current for a sudden tour announcement for awhile... and after last tour, I was in the innocence group because I had let my previous subscription lapse for a few months and it seemed I had an easier time getting my GA's than most experience peops... So, long story short (too late, I know ...) I'll not allow LiveNation to get me stressed anymore. I know how they operate, and I know winter means spring and spring means fall with them!

You’re probably dealing with it the best way both in terms of being happy to wait until the items been issued where you can still chose it as a gift if you want (online price dependant) and also not allowing Livenation to stress you as you know what to expect from them. It’s just disappointing that the band and music yourself, I and many others love goes through them and we can’t trust there word. I guess I just feel its ok to complain about whilst I realise it won’t achieve anything, so pointless really lol, but it gets it off my chest, I just feel strongly about principles I guess.
