1. please help!!

recently i've been ripping alot of my dvds so i can put them onto my iPod... i'm using ImToo DVD Audio Ripper Platinum and some of the DVD's that i rip have distorted sound... The Live 8 DVD namely is one of them and the Across the great Divide DVD... does any1 else experience this and is there a way to get rid of it???

    regards justin
  2. The best ones are Handbrake (though it's slow as arse) or Videora which works well. Also it depends on what bit-rate the sound is at (192Kbps or even higher for me usually), how many channels (2 or stereo at the least) and that sort of stuff.

It also happens when sound is lost during the compression. Next time try using AAC or MP3 high-bit rate sound.
  3. thanx drewy... but has anyone else had the same experiences when ripping dvds??? this has never happened with a u2 dvd by the way thank god!!

I once had problems with the Chicago DVD. The sounds sucks already compared to Boston/Slane/Paris/Popmart but after ripping, it was even worse. I lost OOTS, Yahweh and 40 with it...Dunno why, probably a wrong bitrate.
  5. Not totally in topic, but does everybody get a strong distortion at the end of Dirty Day, in ZOO Sydney DVD??

Not noticed it. I'll listen later and check.

I get some distortion at the middle of Streets on my rip of U2 Go Home. Sounds like microphone echo so I'm not sure if it's my rip or the actual recording?

Long time I noticed (very) small flaws and distorsions at Go Home DVD. It's the recording, not your rip

Exactly There are some also in Staring At The Sun and in One if I recall good. Not very confident of my memories though.
