1. Is there a version of "The Fly" as performed on Boston 2001-06-06 but with The Edge's falsetto chorus?

  2. Unfortunately, Edge's falsettos were cut from every Elevation performance, and substituted with Bono's regular voice. In my honest opinion, it was a terrible idea

    This would be great time for one of those unofficial remixers to get working
  3. That freaking version, my mate, is one the best live songs U2 has ever played.

  4. (I'm assuming your talking to me? lol)

    Yes, I completely agree that it is an awsome performance, but the fact there are no falsettos ruins the song on the whole tour for me
  5. Nah I don't care. If you hear that solo once, that's better than hearing that falsetto chorus 100 times. And I don't love the Vertigo Fly. Only the intro, Zoo TV was better for the rest of the song.

    The Elevation Solos were definitely best, but imo the Vertigo versions were best for all parts of the song. Especially the outros!!!!

    For now, I say we agree to disagree

    Personally the Edge falsetto is great, but when I sing this I like to sing the Love chorus as well. Changing from normal tone is falsetto is harsh on the voice, which is one reason why I enjoy the Elevation versions. Plus I can't sing two different lines at once lol

    Just because Edge isn't singing doesn't mean the song stinks, I know we tend to forget but Bono is a good singer

    Completely agree.

    So choose one part to sing!
    I never said that it stinks lol
  10. Edge's falsetto is only good when you can hear him lol, i.e. although I love the ZooTV versions, when he gets drowned out by the crowd it kinda makes you wonder why he bothered

    I'm started to put later Elevation versions as the best live format, the solo is simply immense, the intros were always awesome and I like the extended chorus idea with Bono singing everything, at least he was singing! (I'm being a bit Gerard-ish in not like many Vertigo versions 'cause he rarely ever properly sang the lyrics...)

    E.G. = Milan
  12. I'm a big fan of the Vertigo versions. Bono says it himself: that's where they finally got the song right. The song is immense, the highlight of every show. The big screens, some great snippets and the 'darkness', it's really 'devil'-ish as it's meant...

    But The Fly rocked every tour
