1. Every broadcast so far has been terrible. It's just the modern way it seems. Fiddling with them rarely helps either.

  2. What I heard the night of sounded stellar....

  3. I disagree. Since the first three songs of the Montreal stream were available to everyone, not just paid members of u2.com, the servers were overloaded and it was hard to get a connection. Once connected to the stream, however, the quality was stunning.

I wish for a straight stream capture, no editing other than breaking it into separate tracks.
  4. I haven't heard this one yet but Brazil, Cape Town, Rose Bowl and Shuffled were quite harsh to listen to. Wembley 2 wasn't bad but sadly incomplete (and didn't go out live).
  5. I correct my rating from 4 stars to 3 stars. Sounds clear but shit to me. Heard much better audience recordings than this terrible broadcast.
  6. 1997-07-18 Rotterdam.
I think it deserves more than just 2 stars, maybe 3 or 3.5...
  7. Is it possible to correct lineages instead of ratings here, too?
The Montreal 2011-07-09 source currently on the show pages is trainmaniac's one, edited by me.

I think trainmaniac deserves to be credited for his excellent source.
  8. Thanks. and if you're reading this: thanks to you trainmaniac

    Good sound, maybe 4
  10. São Paulo 1998-01-31 (http://u2start.com/shows/1148/#audio)

before anything, I want to say that my intent here is solely to help and to say that not being a specialist, I bring this concert to this discussion because I was on the show the night before and in the present night, me and a lot of friends (unforgettable is the remembrance of the girls enjoying U2 in the pool, which was due to the heat that night) while we were having a barbecue this concert as the soundtrack, as it was broadcast in full by radio (Transamerica FM) and TV (TV Globo) throughout Brazil. I think the audio source is the same, the only difference is that the TV broadcast has been decreased noise leaking from the audience while the transmission of radio kept it, i believe just to give an impression of the live show. Before writing this, I did a comparison listening to "Staring at the Sun", and hence this was my observation, the audio version, certainly captured the FM source, in time 4:22 'whistles appear strong, while in the video version though present the same whistles are much more attenuated. So my conclusion is that this definitely is not an audience recording (although it is rated 5 stars as the audience), but a broadcast.
For me, this concert could be classified as 5 stars, no problem, but beyond not being my competence to judge it's quality, besides U2start has its own criteria, I consider myself suspect, since the show was in my country and we always have a tendency to find that the concerts in our country were the best, no?
My 2 cents hoping to make this forum each time better, much better than my english, of course! LOL
