1. I know our boys are not a festival band, however, I asked myself: what if they decided to take this moment after Songs of Surrender and before a future release to play some concerts in a "greatest hits" style? Maybe as a warm-up to the next album, to get themselves and their huge catalog out there, while still working on their record.

That wouldn't require a proper tour since there'd be no new songs to be promoted, therefore they could "just" perform in some festivals throughout the year (like Lollapalooza, Glastonbury, Rock in Rio, etc.), which would make the development and logistics simpler (at least I think so), and they could connect with a more varied audience, as it happens in festivals.

With that in mind, I came up with a setlist that I believe would be "playable" for them (considering what they've played in recent years, etc.) so it's not just wishful thinking, but an actual effort to come up with something feasible, even though I know 26 songs might be a bit of a stretch, since they've only done so many songs in one night during parts of the IE tour, perhaps some Vertigo Tour concerts came close to that too... but hey, ALL their studio albums are represented here, even if only by one song, plus it'd be just some festival concerts throughout a whole year, so I guess it could be done.

    Anyway, here's the setlist:

    1. Desire (the "Hollywood remix" sirens and news reports/lines start playing over the P.A. as an intro, then larry kicks in with the drums, after that edge starts teasing with the guitar, then adam comes with the bass part, and edge's guitar goes full on as bono takes the stage)
    2. Vertigo (no pause after Desire, like they were playing it after Elevation, with the drums segueing into the next song)
    3. I Will Follow
    4. Gloria
    5. Elevation (no pause at the end, drums segueing to the next song)
    6. Atomic City
    7. I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For
    8. Stuck In A Moment You Can’t Get Out Of (edge on piano - IE version)
    9. Stay (Faraway, So Close!) (full band electric - EI version)
    10. Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
    11. Until The End Of The World

Short intermission (Screens showing a sequence with a war/fighting/explosions theme)

    12. Sunday Bloody Sunday
    13. New Year’s Day
    14. Bad
    15. Staring At The Sun (acoustic)
    16. City Of Blinding Lights
    17. Beautiful Day
    18. Every Breaking Wave (JT 2019 version)
    19. The Little Things That Give You Away

    Encore

    20. The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone)
    21. Mysterious Ways (extended intro and slide solo at the end)
    22. Ultra Violet (Light My Way) (360 version) [wishful thinking, I know]
    23. With Or Without You
    24. One
    25. Where The Streets Have No Name
    26. Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way

What do you guys think about this whole idea? Don't be shy, please comment if you will

    ----

Edit: Ok, I've just realized there were no NLOTH songs in the setlist, despite from my affirmation that all studio albums were covered ... well, I guess you could get Magnificent or Get On Your Boots as the 6th song instead of Atomic City, it could still work in the set, although I believe it'd be more likely for them to stick to their latest release instead, especially since NLOTH has been widely forgotten post 360 (and even "abandoned" by the later stages of its own tour).

I like it! Needs to have 40 though
  3. They could switch it as the closer, in a rotational style, or just add it up to the set at the end "on special occasions"
  4. IDK. I think and would hope that anything from SoI/SoE would be shelved for other songs from their expansive catalog. And any iteration of Ultraviolet from here on out should be played a la Zoo TV. That's the guitarist in me talking LOL. I also think Atomic City should be shelved- it was a Vegas song that should be left with their Sphere run. And Boots can stay gone.. maybe MOS or Magnificent could be resurrected, although I'd love to see them play Fez/Being Born.. and I still love NLOTH live

Interesting take. I don't think they would nor should leave SoI/SoE completely out of something like what I've proposed, but I kinda can see that being the case. Anyway, I just went for the "full compilation", and added Atomic City for being the representation of the current decade (yeah, there's YSSML, but I don't like it as much), but I know Atomic City has a special meaning to me specifically, considering the moment I was living when it was released and at my solo trip to vegas for the sphere concert, but yeah, I bet it would/will be shelved, so at least I got to see it live!

As for NLOTH I like it too, would like to see some of it back, but I don't even dream with Fez/Being Born, don't think it will get the same treatment as RHMT or Acrobat, I'm afraid we must leave this one for the cover bands...

And last but not least, UV was majestic during the 360 tour days (earlier on the tour), but I don't think Bono will be sacrificing his voice during a concert to get those high notes ever again... well, at least I got to see that live too! BTW, the 360 version is so good and successful among fans that I think they should have released the song as a single in that period, with the original AB version, a "new mix" version (like they did with RHMT in 2017) based on the 360 live performance, a live version from Zoo TV 1992 and a live version from the 360 2009.
  6. Threw this together for 2025. Nothing outlandish or "perfect". In reality Elevation would be there somewhere.

    1. New Song
    2. Out Of Control
    3. The Electric Co.
    4. I Will Follow
    5. New Song
    6. New Song

    12. Until The End Of The World
    13. New Year's Day
    14. Sunday Bloody Sunday
    15. Please
    16. Streets
    17. Pride
    18. With Or Without You

    19. Zoo Station
    20. The Fly

Yeah I do think there are some great songs on both SoI/SoE, but the optimist in me is hoping for some completely new songs! Yeah UV's return on 360 was epic.. just the guitarist in me wasn't such a big fan of the musical changes. Yeah I think the only love NLOTH will get will be snippets, unfortunately.. hey, I respect your songs and your take on stuff.. will be interesting to see what their upcoming live plans are.

It’s hard to predict the Setlist before the songs get released. There might be certain songs that need to get played because they fit the theme of the tour
