He was the singer of Genesis but since 1977 He made a solo career.

At the moment he does a strange music for him ( classic ) but normaly he made a very good music

    some great song from him

    Solsbury Hill
    In Your Eyes
    Biko
    Game Witthout Frontiers
    Shok The Monkey
    Red Rain
    Mercy Streets
    Come Talk To Me
    Sledgehamer
    On The Air

    and many others
  2. I have to say after U2 i listen the most to peter gabriel
I have al His albums and a lot of bootlegs .....
my father got the album'' So'' back in 1987 since than i am a fan despite i never seen him live
but he made some great music
  3. I love Peter's music. Peter Gabriel (third album/Melt) is a long-time favorite. Also interesting is his innovation. It was that album that Peter said: NO CYMBALS. So all of the drumming came out very rhytmic and tribal as they were not falling back on ride and hi-hat cymbals for keeping time.

Another fun point... it was one of a few great albums Steve Lillywhite produced in 1980. Others? "Black Sea" by XTC (1980) and "Boy" by a lil Irish band called U2.
  4. I like Peter Gabriel just as much as I like Genesis. My father is a big fan since lots of years ago and they've received constant playing since I can remember.

Funnily enough, I bought this evening a Best Of by him, called Hit: The Definitive 2 CD collection.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hit-Definitive-Collection-Peter-Gabriel/dp/B0000DH957

It indeed has all the essentials, I've listened to it and yesss

keep watching ...there going to sing Downside up .....upside down ....
  10. Gabriel's soundtrack for The Last Temptation of Christ, Passion, is rarely off the ipod. Exceptional music for an exceptional film. I saw him live at a festival a couple of years ago and, alas, it was as dull as Hell. However, he DID perform Paul Simon's Boy in the Bubble which was just beautiful. Still got big love for the bloke, mind.
