As Remy said, we will keep an eye on this and there will be a plan B if we need one. There is not much to worry about for now.

Rapidshare and sendspace will never die.
  2. Best way would be own download-servers for sure, but I think it's impossible, too expensive.

Or only torrents in the future. Also great for mp3's, I think.
  3. Not really, since older / non popular / crappy shows wont have seeds.

Our own download server is certainly a plan with a letter between B and Z
  4. torrents instead these sites will never work since little people will seed, these, a few have a hi speed, and these, few will seed anytime we could want. well, i like mediafire, no wait, full speed, many downloads at a time, but i guess they will be slayed soon.

Join the SOUP SOPA* (Unless it's different in other languages)

I haven't heard of most of them (UploadStation, VideoBB, Uploaded, FilePost, Videoz, Org torrent, Network Share, Koshiki, Shienko Box, ShareX). MediaFire and 4Shared seem to be co-operating. What are RapidShare doing?

  10. The Pirate Bay has been officially shut down

The Supreme Court of Sweden announced that it will not be granting leave to the appeal filed by those involved in the criminal trial of The Pirate Bay. The criminal trial has been running since long years. The newest decision of the Supreme Court to not grant leave means that the previous jail sentences and other fines given out to Gottrfrid Svartholm, Peter Sunde, Carl Lundstrom and Fredrik Neij will stay.

Back in November 2010, the Swedish Court of Appeal discovered three individuals behind the huge website The Pirate Bay guilty of several copyright infringement charges. Even though Carl Lundstorm, Fredrik Neij and Peter Sunde all had their sentences to serve behind bars decreased from the level which was ruled by the court in 2009 trial, they were demanded to pay large sums of money equaling to millions of dollars to those who they have affected by copying their material and posting it online.

The three people involved hoped their ruling would be overturned and as a result, filed for a case hearing at the Supreme Court. However, the request was simply rejected which means the sentences given by the Supreme Court are final sentences and all three will serve time behind bars.

One of the founders of The Pirate Bay, Peter Sunde, also commonly known as Brokep, is going to serve 8 months behind prison, while Fredrik Neij, known popularly as TiAMO, will serve a sentence of 10 months behind bars. Moreover, Carl Lundstorm, who is also a businessman, will have to serve only 4 months behind bars. Moreover, all three will have to pay a total sum of 46 million kronor as damaged which equals to $6.8 million.

However, it is not certain that the founders of the website will go to prison since it is a common practice in the justice system of Sweden to reduce 12 months from any prison sentence on court cases that are more than or five years old. Pirate Bay does meet that criteria and thus, its defendants would qualify however, the final decision is up to the court.
