1. Hi everybody,

since the tour will start "soon" i asked myself which equipment do i need to record a show??
I just want a audio record such as Gothenburg 2005 or with this kind of quality!
Is there anything i have to pay attention to while recording a show? or anything i should know?

    thanks for answering!

of course i will share my recordings
  2. Hey,

Sounds great! We can use every taper!

I dont know much about recording, but i know that in the info files (files included with most bootlegs) you can find the equipement they used.

Basicly you'll need good mics and recording device. Also the place in the stadium has a lot of effect on the recorded sound.

I'd advise you to check the upgrades and addition forums. Some info files describe the recording process and may help you with your choice of equipment
  3. thanks but i actually want to stand in the first row in berlin, amsterdam and gelsenkirchen and not sitting somewhere

  4. Cool! Well maybe an experienced taper can shine some light about this subject

  5. so we will definitely see each other then

  6. i'm no authority on the subject, but I'm thinking that location is less-than-ideal for taping a performance...
  7. Things iv noted from bootlegging

    1) stand central and quite a bit back from the very front to get the full effect of the PA.
    2) avoid women, im sorry i don't want to sound sexist but they do tend to scream at quite a decible

    3) use a good digital recorder (don't use cassettes) i purchased this http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/products/h2/ for the upcoming tour, i tested it last week at an Elbow gig and im very pleased with the results.

Oh and don't forget to share

wow this one is very expensive! i actually dont have that much money since i have to pay some other important stuff
  9. Is anyone else planning to record the two Gothenburg concerts? I might give it a try otherwise. Is bringing the equipment into the arena allowed, and what is necessary to get a well sounding recording?
  10. Hey guys, i'm recording audio for a few shows, where's best to hold my recording device, so i won'tt get interfearance from bouncing around too much, tried hanging from my neck but kept getting noise from it bouncing around too much.

From my (few) experiences bootlegging, I've learnt that getting a decent recording is usually incompatible with enjoying the show the way I like (that means jumping, clapping, singing and stuff). So you'll probably have to stand a little quiet if you want to achieve a good recording... or just jump and dance around, and get a personal souvenir (not apt for internet sharing haha )

    Which equipment do you have?
