1. Maybe Stu should stand next to the PA, and plug his mp3-player directly into a soundboard-headphone-exit? When no-one is looking?

[edit] And then share it with us, of course

Haha, yeah maybe i should do that...i do have a Shure professional mic, but plugging that to the iRiver is a little hard to do unfortunatly..lol

I'd be interested to know the phone and to hear a sample, though. Maybe I missed an easy and cheap way to tape.

Plenty of Nokia's I've had through the years. Nokia 8310 (I think - it was lots of years ago) turned out to have a great recording quality. Zero distortion even under high decibel conditions. More recently, Nokia 5220 ExpressMusic and my current Nokia 5800 both record pretty good. I have some recordings in this laptop, all of them are in ARM format so it will take some time until I find a decent program to convert it.

I am not saying (and haven't said) that the recording will be apt to be shared on the internet, or traded, or a great-sounding recording from the concert. But it can (and surely will) turn out to be a great personal souvenir. Stu won't lose anything trying to record it, and on the other hand can win a great memento of the show!!

Am no expert. But most connections can be easily converted to minijack. Only know the standard jack, mini jack and XLR connectors though.

Dont know what kind the Sure's are, maybe different?
  5. Like all most of the voice mics, the Shure's have a standard 1/4'' jack connector. You only need one of these

which are sold under 5$ in order to convert it into a standard 3'5 jack. Easy deal.
  6. On the other hand, I don't think the iRiver has a external mic plugin
  7. So what, Stu? Did you eventually record it?
  8. Maybe he's angry a la pissed taper with everyone on the net using and ripping off his covers and album arts, and therefore he won't share his A++ Excellent Superb Soundboard recording... Who knows

Nah the mic has the bigger plug, but i do have quite a few of those 8th of an inch jacks though.

Long story, the iRiver was in my backpack, got sperated from my GF, she had the bag, didn;t end up taping it...nevermind, between us all took over 1,000 photos though, some with professional cameras.

  10. I don't like the every-single-second-photographing that much, a concert should be watched and lived through your eyes, not through a camera lens/screen. But to each their own, photos are beautiful mementos too, I understand you

EDIT: Oh, fuck, you're right. Mics have a canon plug, not a jack! What I was thinking of?! But I have a few canon>1/8 jack converters (with which I plug my mics to the voice amp I use), though, maybe that's why I confused them.

All of those photo's are between 7 of us, i took about 200, i know what you mean, i'd prefer to just watch the show no hassles of taking photo's, but i also want photo's as a momento of the show, especially seeing the boys up close on that outer stage, you could almost touch them.
