1. Wow. I never knew Alice Cooper and Meatloaf has such extensive catalogs.

You'd be surprised. Meat has nine albums and Alice (group and solo combined) is 25.

No I Would Do Anything.... on the Meat Loaf behemoth?!

Greatest hits versus a best of - this is a best of for me, and so that song doesn't make it in. If anything, I find it way too short for what it is.

it has often been described as one of the worst songs of all time...

    it's a love hate song

and i am all for the love of it

Yet a lot of people remain confused by just what 'that' is.

speaking of alice cooper, how good is his radio show?

He does classic rock trivia, odd news bits and sometimes has guests on the show. Interesting show but I've not found a way to get it on the radio, so I just download the podcasts.

Oh and as for Led Zeppelin, I can't do a best of. Too hard.
  2. Unlike The Beatles or The Rolling Stones, I grew up on Led Zeppelin ALBUMS. The Beatles had the "Red" and "Blue" albums and The Stones had "Hot Rocks" long before Led Zep released any greatest hits collections (since then they've released pretty much the same compilation three times). Anyway, for this reason I find it very difficult to separate any song from the others on any given LZ album.

I saw PJ in New Zealand in 1998 and the opened with "Sometimes" and "Hail, Hail." Ever since then, these two songs are a must for for me on a "Best of Pearl Jam" compilation.

for me, as said for the Zeppelin, it's really hard making a best of
seeing songs like rearviewmirror, immortality, can't keep, present tense, better man, oceans, release, just breathe ... and on and on .. out of a best of hurts me
probably i would never complain to a setlist show whatever it is .. and they're pretty long

I'm in hte process of making a (best of) PJ live compilation...it'll probably be four CD's long, however. I'm using Live on Two/Ten Legs and I just shelled out about $20 on itunes (gotta be honest from time to time) for some of the missing live tracks.
