That being said. U2 ('s management...) is being a bit of a dick and clearly just focusing on the american end European market.
Most of them have heard all the Innocence songs. The setlist is working out better and the band especially seem kind off "released" since the Copenhagen and Hamburg shows, where they introduced all the new stuff.

If anything , if you believe in setlist "buildup" This current setup will not disappoint you either way. Its got a better narrative,
and the band seems to snapped out of the "going through the motions" mode.

I realise that I speak out of privilige tho. Its been unfair for Asian, African and European U2 fans.
you should have said they're focusing on North America and western Europe... because Europe isn't jus Germany and west... what about southern, eastern and even middle europe?
  2. I'm just bitter the addition of the AB songs happened after I saw them twice in Philly.
  3. This is almost the perfect E+I setlist, a POP song would fit it better, and the encore needs some work

Sorry for the late reply! Good point and i completely agree. Nothing to add.
Was seeing this band in Ireland.. So yeah.
  5. My thoughts, too.

(Although I didn't see them in Philly....it's just that this updated setlist is much more interesting than what went through North America.)
  6. Hey forum,

I think that the current live version of New Years Day is based off of New years Dub from 2001. What ya think?

I think it was a good idea to drop the rock instrumentation.
  7. someone knows where to get the outro version of the Miracle of Joey Ramone?
  8. Wonder why they don't play that anymore.... I think it fit better then the Talking Heads song...
  9. As someone who saw the 2 LA show this year I think it's kind of disappointing that they dropped the Innocence section. It's always their go-to to play Achtung Baby songs when something isn't working. It's their backup plan. This happened in 2011 when I saw them in Anaheim for the pre-Glastonbury show, they played 5 songs from AB to start off the set. It was awesome and fresh but this time it just feels like a cop-out because they don't want to film a DVD with so many of the same songs. The tour is called the Experience AND Innocence show. Just play other songs from SOI or make it fresh and interesting. Zoo Station and the Fly don't sound as strong or aggressive as on past tours imo. Stay and Horses though are amazing! Horses should have always opened the encore tbh the encore is really lacking still although Landlady was helping that out but that may be gone too. In summary I love AB but I dislike when they give up on recent tracks for hits and classics. This reminds me of in 2010 when they dropped all the NLOTH songs for that MW/Elevation/Until the End run. Pls play Red Flag Day and LIAWHL and Little Things and Showman! rant over
  10. I can see both sides of this but I think the show is much better with the AB songs b/c they are simply just better concert songs. I was at London 2 and that run of AB songs is the highlight of the show IMO. As far as going to Aus, they should do the show Apollo NY style and forget hauling the big screen if that is the issue. The fans there deserve it.
  11. I’ve listened to both and the new set is way better. If they had kept the Innocence section as it was it would’ve been fine, but so much of it had been stripped away that it no longer packed the same punch. In 2015 it went IWF-Iris-Cedarwood-SFS-SBS-RBW. By the end of 2018 it went Ocean (without vocals)-Iris (abbreviated)-Cedarwood-SBS (dreadful transition into)-UTEOTW.

The other thing that killed it was Bono’s talking between songs. He would fully introduce each song, leaving gaps between, whereas in 2015 he would either introduce the songs as the music started or just begin singing right away. It was a lot more seamless. The new section doesn’t have as strong of a narrative (although Bono seems to suggest that there still is a narrative present in that run), but on a performance level it works so much better.
