But given the current show format, I don't ever see The Troubles as a closer. It's too heavy of a song for them to close with and it also doesn't have a very well defined closing section. Compare that to songs like One, WOWY, 40, even Still Haven't Found, The Troubles doesn't have as strong of an ending.

I really think the best spot is where they've put it before, a lead-in to WOWY. I used to think of it as a transition from Beautiful Day to WOWY, but I'm starting to think that Beautiful Day is the song out of place here.
It really is hard to find it a place. BD was originally after Troubles, but it also felt out of place right after Pride. Pride and BD are both epic cheerful tunes, Troubles is too much of a downer to be placed right after any of those; that's why I said once that probably it could fit between Bullet and Pride (replacing the Hands snippet when the tour reaches Europe and Hands doesn't makes much sense anymore).

    Alternative spots:

*End the main set with Bullet-Pride-BD, and create an encore with Troubles-Bad/AIWIY-WOWY.

*Try Troubles after COBL. I know that COBL is similar to Pride and BD, but at least is not coming after the whole sequence and emotional baggage of Wave-Bullet-Hands-Pride-BD (imho is the whole ride what makes Troubles hard to swallow at that spot).
They won't get rid of M&CR and the speach before Streets, because at least in their minds that speach is more important than Streets, but still I can dream that it would fit perfectly Troubles into Streets.
  2. play this song before or after, the album version of TLTTGYA

  3. Such a beautiful solo at the end, if only it had made it to the album version.
  4. Such a shame this never took off live. Would’ve liked to have heard Edge sing Lykke Li’s part instead of playing her voice over the speakers.
  5. I still think this should have closed the IE tour. Similar to what they did with bad/40. Each band member walks down the cat walk and off the e stage. Bono first, Adam second, Larry third, and then you have the Edge all alone on the catwalk playing an extended solo facing both sides of the crowd.

Doesn't work for me, although anything would have been better than Still Haven't Found.
  7. I would have liked the troubles to be the show closer or even main set closer. It would have been similar to the zoo tv shows that finished with love is Blindness. I think it would be cool if they finish disc 1 of the subscriber set with it if they keep it to innocence on disc 1 and experience on disc 2.

Innocence on cd 1 and Experience on cd 2 is the only logical approach, and heck it would be brilliant to end 1 with The Troubles and 2 with 13. Well thought (even if The Troubles wasn't a set/show closer and was followed by WOWY every of the 4 times they played it).
  9. and Little Thing on a separate single cd?
