1. Saw Muse in London with my 25 year old son last night. They are his band and I thought they were amazing.

He lacked power to do his long screams. I hadn't properly noticed it before but now that you mention it it's something recurrent. If he doesn't improve they'll have to quit playing many old songs where it's more noticeable.

The way you feel about Shepherd's Bush I feel about Belfast 2015. I'll never see Unnatural Selection, Fury, Uno, Agitated, Hyper Music and Animals ever again, let alone together in the same set, let alone with two live debuts, and let alone in a 2,000 people venue!! I have long accepted that I'll never see a gig like that ever again, but that doesn't detract me from enjoying -or trying to- the rest of the concerts. I'm sure I'll enjoy Madrid more than I did Prague, and I'm just crossing fingers that they add at least ONE DAMN SONG as an "end of leg" surprise!

Oh nice, I was at the Glasgow and Manchester 2015 club gigs.

It's an interesting one regarding his voice, they insist on playing Mercy every show this tour even though he really struggles with it, whereas songs like Assassin and Dead Star are actually waaaay easier for him vocally and also tick the 'one for the hardcores' box. Interesting to see Take A Bow has been taken down a semitone as well, though it suits the change and I'm just glad they're still playing it!

Hoping they keep Bliss around for the remainder of the tour. It's got so much more energy than Undisclosed Desires, perfect song for any gig. Madrid will be incredible as the crowds there are always so damn good
  3. I used to dislike it (or rather, not care about it) for years but something like 6 months ago it clicked with me. I learnt it on guitar and I've loved it since then!
  4. Not sure if this is allowed here or not, please feel free to remove if not.

Selling two tickets for the Krakow concert on the 22nd June.

Face value is 100e each but willing to sell both for 100e. If anyone is interested.

I'm adding nothing new to what's been said before, but I'll say it anyway: too much focus on the scenic part of the show, too few on the musical aspects. Matt plays guitar/piano less and less, each time there's more songs in which he only sings for most/all of the time; I'm ok with that (U2 fan, right?), but part of the absolute devotion that I feel (or felt) for him is that he was a GREAT piano+guitar player besides a good singer. Also he was a bit hoarse, as if he had just overcome a flu or a cold - not his fault, but something that undoubtedly affected the show in a very negative way. Other than that, the song choices are predictable and there are no rarities or hardcore-oriented songs whatsoever, it's absolutely a "new album + greatest hits" kind of gig. And last but not least, the Czech audience wasn't really into the gig (except maybe for Plug In Baby, TIRO, Starlight and surprisingly Thought Contagion).

These 14 minutes alone are worth the price of admission alone, though:

I want to know how to make those guitar sounds at the start
  6. Many of Matt's guitar sounds just can't be replicated without having a dedicated midi controller (like he does with his Kaoss pad and with the knob he uses for the pre-Plug In Baby noises).

I'll post this on Musebootlegs, good luck!
  8. Holy hell this weather has been dreadful recently...not looking good for tomorrow either. I work in St Helens which isn't too far away and it was 'gig cancellation' weather yesterday; severe rain, hail and thunder.

    Bring a poncho!

It's not gonna be a "happy birthday to Matt" kind of thing
  10. Ah I didn't realise it was his birthday the day after!

They played Showbiz for Chris' birthday in December so...Guiding Light for tomorrow?
  11. Belter of a gig last night.

Really enjoyed that. Going in blind was the best thing. My last gig before this was Shepherd's Bush '17 so I had already made peace with the fact I wasn't going to see a show on that 'level' but overall the performance was excellent, the crowd were really into it (where I was at least) and I thought the set catered well to all types of fans.

+ the ST songs all translated really well live, especially Algorithm (good lord that piano) and Break It To Me. Only Propaganda fell a little flat, felt it got a bit lost in the big open space.

+ Tom Morello coming out was amazing and you could tell how much he and Matt were enjoying the moment.

+ the production/visuals were stellar throughout, I wish it had been dark the whole time!

+ Great to hear Hysteria, PiB and SS as I wasn't sure they'd be played. Bliss and Take A Bow (which sounded great a half step down) were exactly the kind of songs that I wanted; fan favourites and they really fit the feel of the tour. Good set length too.

    - I felt the sound could have been a smiiiidge louder on the whole. I've noticed that a few times with the Etihad in general though.

    - It's becoming more noticeable that Matt is showing wear and tear on his voice. Not his fault by any means and he still gives 100%, it's just a shame. Quite evident from the number of breaks he has as well.

    - Think I would have preferred The Void/Blockades over Propaganda but nevermind.

    An easy 8.5/10 for me
