Joshua Tree Tour 2019
Legs (1): New Zealand, Australia and Asia
Shows: 15
  1. You guys know he was referring to Love is Bigger, right?
  2. Listend to the 1st show, autopilot on almost every song and tuned down.
Bonos doesnt give anything on the songs, no energy, doesnt hit the high notes
It is such a huge diffrence compared to 2014/2015....

Ultraviolet was probably the biggest disappointment.

Half assed attempt with it. I would rather it dropped for something else then continue with this version.
  4. I think the lack of effort/energy suggestions are just inaccurate. Yes I know we’re all entitled to an opinion but to say he’s standing up there on stage not trying enough is just wrong. He was struggling with low notes all night sometimes it was more subtle than others, that wasn’t out of choice. Ultraviolet was a tough one under the circumstances. The high notes in general were quite good, the more difficult ones perhaps he still had struggles with but again I don’t think it’s right to blame that on a lack of effort he just wasn’t physically able to reach the levels he can on a better night it can happen, his voice will likely get better show by show.
  5. U2 always improve as the tour rolls forward. Opening nights have been difficult before, they aren't robots remember.
Bit like us going back to work first day after a 2 week holiday.

One is a classic, LIB is certainly not garbage, and it's definitely a better show-closer than One is. I don't want to leave a U2 show all sad and shit, I want to leave feeling uplifted.

I Will Follow as a closer at the 2017 Toronto show I saw trumps em' all though
It was pretty epic! I think not on the setlist too. That being said, of my 17 shows, JT2017 Toronto was #17

    Sorry but completely disagree.

3/4 of the song was pretty much just spoken. It wasnt until the real high notes towards the end that any life came back into the song.

The 2017 version was a low key version of the song, but this was even lower.
  8. I had to bail for work so missed a lot of it, but tomorrow I will definitely listen in . Great way to start a Saturday
  9. It's important to them that Ultraviolet stays, so Bono just has to find a more comfortable way to sing the low parts or sing them at a higher key, he knows how to sing, he'll figure it out. I like that the i + e albums got represented with two performances in EBW & Love is bigger. What I'd love to see -even if it's a dream- is an Achtung Baby song right after Ultraviolet to get the energy going again. Wild Horses would be nice, Bono sang it great last year or The Fly. One of those two right after Ultraviolet. And then proceed with Love is bigger & One.
  10. What happened to the Crowded House snippet that we heard in the rehearsal during Bad?

Well if they lowered the key it would have been done to help hit the higher notes because as we heard it certainly didn’t help with the lower notes. And even some of the high notes were patchy so the key change probably was needed but again I’m struggling to see where this lack of effort suggestion comes from an observation of an under par performance is different to accusing someone of not trying enough.
