    My reasoning:
I was at Torino in 2010... Stingray, North Star & Glastonbury all debuted but never heard of formally since.

Kingdom...2009 intro music. Never heard of formally since.

Of course we had SoI but these songs never made that cut.

Maybe there should be a Passengers2 to sweep these up !

    Little Things...hopefully on SoE.

    The Blackout...definitely on SoE ?
Stingray became lucifers hands and the Glastonbury riff is in volcano. I think most u2 albums have songs that have been worked on for as you say 7 or 8 years or at least parts of certain songs, I'm sure city of blinding lights was originally from pop sessions so that fits that sort of timescale.

Yes, the Hansa Tapes are the best example of ideas/work in progress/random riffs !

Excited about a new single but hoping, hoping its not The Best Thing. Even if less
"catchy" Little Things is a much better, more U2 like, song.

I'll agree that Little Things is probably a better song only based on what we've heard of it and the best thing, but in no way is it a single IMO. It wouldn't generate any sort of buzz at all, it's not catchy, it's not an ear worm, etc.

I disagree that The Best Thing doesn't sound as U2-ish though. It's no secret they've always had a penchant for simple pop songs. It's as U2-ish as Beautiful Day or COBL to me.
  5. Getting great feelings from reading the u2gigs write up and the description of The Blackout. 90s sounding with heavy bass and guitar is enough to get the senses ringing with anticipation. With Zoo Station, Elevation and Magnificent mentioned, with the added piece about the crowd jumping at the chorus. This hints at a great hook and it could potentially be another great U2 track. Very early days but this is very exciting!

The heavier the better ! ...Zoo Station The Fly Disco HMTMKMKM.... and thinking about it some heavies on NLOTH too .. Bring it on.
  7. Excited to hear both The Blackout and The Lights To Home. Really exciting that they've dropped two new songs on an audience....
  8. Yes "Soon" (kingdom) was released on 7" Red Vinyl as part of the 360 Rose Bowl Super boxset Release
  9. I missed that obscurity...I will have a look.

Absolutely! Without sounding too cliche, we are due another big tune like Vertigo and Beautiful Day. Although I feel The Miracle was a stab at that. The likes of Breathe and Stand Up Comedy are great tunes on NLOH, I struggle to name any on SOI though. Hope its musically different
  11. I knew it had been released on vinyl but as one who never picked up the Super Box set (just got the 2-disc edition because they cheated us out of "Breathe"), would anyone be willing to PM me about getting "Soon" as an MP3 file? Just listening to it again on YouTube is bringing me back to the 360 spaceship liftoff in 2009.

    Thanks, if possible!
