Commento generale

U2 was the perfect choice to open Sphere. They created a clear vision of what this new performance space is & how to use it, & while the visuals are massive, they used them perfectly, bringing balance between spectacle &, believe it or not, intimacy. They also managed to tell a “story” with the music & visuals during the encore (set 2?). After the darkness & intensity of Achtung Baby (relieved somewhat by the acoustic 4 song set), they ended with a celebration. The final image on the screen at the end of “Beautiful Day” evokes a cathedral in a breathtaking manner. This was an incredible musical-visual experience that only U2 might be capable of.
