NOTES:
Seeing as there is a bunch of mobile phone sourced recordings floating
around [on u2start, BG] to fill in gaps from recent tours where audio
recordings haven't been publicly released, and I've got this on my HDD
just sitting there, I figured I'd pass it onto you to upload to the site
to fill the gap for this Brisbane show; before it somehow gets deleted
and this show is lost to the community forever.

It's not my recording, and I have no lineage for it, but I have had it
since a day or two after the show. I have split the tracks, added snippets
and edited all the song titles, and I believe I have included cover art
in each file. I do not have a lossless source for the show, and I do not
believe this particular recording is very easy to track down anymore.
There is some slight distortion and clipping in some of the songs.

I was at this show and of the 21 odd I have seen, between this night and
the following night, they are up there with some of the best two shows in
a row I've seen the band do.
This particular show was on the 30th anniversary that John Lennon was murdered,
so there is a lot of references to the Beatles and a few snippets, and Bono
was in fine form as a result.

Particularly noteworthy songs include the version of ISHFWILF w/ Stand by Me,
Pride, Miss Sarajevo is superb, as is UTEOTW and North Star, which was its
second last performance and wasn't seen again until Miami(?) or something
six months later. One is also a very good version.

Overall a very solid 360 tour show, with a below average recording.
It is listenable, but the sound is muffled and I would give it a 2/5.

Performance

This was my first U2 concert so I didn't know what to expect.

The show was full of energy and the band performed well, but I thought the show didn't "flow" like some of the bootlegs I have listened to. Bono was good pumping the crowd up as much as he could but little things that I expected weren't there. For example he didn't intro the band. On the whole though I did enjoy the show and enjoyed the standard 360 degree set list.

Sound

Audience

For an audience starved of U2 since 2006 I would have though the crowd would have been more into it. The "inner circle" was "going off" but elsewhere there was a sense of calm. I think this was more a reflection of Brisbane people and the threat of rain, than the performance of the band.

Overall

For myself - the highlight was just being there - there is something special about stadium shows and this venue (purpose built for rugby league and football), is a great place to watch concerts. Setlist wise I loved City of Blinding Lights, Vertigo and Where the Streets have no Name.
Negatives? Probably the apathy of my fellow Brisbane people particularly during some of the less know songs.
