The band was clearly determined to close out the first leg with a memorable show and they delivered, no question. Bono greeted fans assembled prior to the show and one could he was in great spirits and ready to perform (having just arrived from a political meeting in Canada). Closing this leg in Cleveland was appropriate to me: it was the location of where President Trump was nominated for President and where the world began to change... and is the rhetorical foundation and inspiration for this tour. Bono has attempted to find middle ground during this tour, and Cleveland was the perfect locale to emote about this tension in American culture... the Two Americas... the scope and thesis of the Joshua Tree.

I had reservations about attending a show in Cleveland not knowing how much energy they would have for the show. They certainly did not disappoint. They were electric.
A classic U2 show. They closed the first leg of the tour having found the proper formula for the set and it proceeded seamlessly. Both the band and the crowd gave it the proper closing this tour deserved.

U2 touring to celebrate the 30th anniversary of 1987's "The Joshua Tree".
Recording went well, stood to the far right of the floor w/ back against
the rail dividing seats and GA. The speaker stacks were very high, so I
pointed the mics directly up and hoped for the best. I am very happy w/
the turnout. The sound in FirstEnergy was surprisingly very solid. The
only EQ done was to lower the bass a tad. Nothing else was touched.

This is the last show of the first US leg of the Joshua Tree Tour. Took the day trip with a few friends for the show. It was a wonderful evening. Sat at a bar, conversed, made some new friends. Got to the show a little late, didn’t really care. It was such a perfect night for a concert. The weather was amazing and didn’t really care what came out of the tape tonight. We were still able to get up decently close to the left-middle stack on the floor. Thanks for M and DC giving me the pointers on this! U2 did not disappoint, once again. I didn’t look at the setlist before I went to this and I was surprised for them to not fool around and just get right into some bangers of tracks. Was blown away by the size of the stage and the visuals were solid. Tape came out pretty decent too.
All in all, it was a great day with some of my best friends to share the experience with. Was still buzzing from the energy at the show, I decided to mix and track the show to post at 5am. Ha! Enjoy if you grab it.

"Our brightest spark wasn't at the beginning. Our brightest will be, I hope, at the end of our career. And I know that sounds like a load of bollocks. I'm always very concsious of Bono-isms."
- Larry Mullen jr, 2009

U2 had considered several other album titles for Achtung Baby, including Man (in contrast to the group's debut, Boy), 69, Zoo Station, and Adam, which would have been paired with the nude photo of Clayton. Other possible titles included Fear of Women, and Cruise Down Main Street.
