A good show. Everyone plays well and sounds very enthused.
It's not without its errors. Edge has some trip-ups in New Year's Day, Bono's voice is a little screechy at times, and Adam (though being really really rad for the rest of the song) sounds like he messes up a little in Sunday Bloody Sunday.
Very good, especially for an audience bootleg from 1983. It does have some slight static and other imperfections here and there but is easily listenable. Recording: "Beaton - D6 Master" - 4 stars
They're not super loud, especially for an audience recording, but they're very, very enthusiastic. They do a lot of singing along.
Very good show from early on the War Tour. The band have a lot of energy; the new material is good, but most of the highlights are Boy and October songs. Of course, by now, they must've been very comfortable with those albums.
I Fall Down, 11 O'Clock Tick Tock, and Surrender all sound a little bit different to what I'm used to.

This could actually be a 1st gen copy from the master but for safety sake I prefer
to say 2nd gen. There is minimum hiss throughout. I knew the taper and what he usualy
did was make a handfull of 1st gen copies to speed up the process of making copies
available for his stall at Ingleston Market (for those of you local to Edinburgh lol).
This really is a great show and reminds me what a great venue the Playhouse can be
before it went all arty farty and putting on stage productions such as Cats!
This was given 4 stars on U2BloodRedSky.com and more information can be found at:
The above url refers to the master tape being used as the source and if you
get the chance of a copy from the master go for it, however you will not be
disapointed in this one meantime.

what they said
"Buzzwords on this record were trashy, throwaway, dark, sexy, and industrial (all good) and earnest, polite, sweet, righteous, rockist and linear (all bad). And Berlin ... became a conceptual backdrop for the record. The Berlin of the Thirties—decadent, sexual and dark—resonating against the Berlin of the Nineties—reborn, chaotic and optimistic..."
- Brian Eno, on Achtung Baby

The Joshua Tree (1987) was the fastest selling album in history in the U.K. and was number one in the charts for nine weeks.
